Southern AgSnail & Slug Bait, 2.5 LB

If anyone in Florida thats having a peanut snail problem, this stuff works really well. We've tried your typical store bought snail bait that contain sulfur or iron and they dont work for these snails. The snails would just climb on our privacy fence and home. We placed this product at the base of the fence and around the perimeter of the home and we noticed a significant decrease in snails (after manually removing the ones before we laid the bait). So, I would definitely recommend this product for Floridians having an issue with peanut snails or Bulimulus bonariensis.

Most of the brands available in stores now are a less effective formulation, though safer for pets and other animals. I've wasted a lot of money on products that don't work and make a big mess. The Southern Ag is the first product in a long time that actually does what it's intended to do - kills slugs fast and thoroughly. Directions are to apply sparingly - 20 pellets per linear foot. So that's about 20-30 pellets to build a perimeter around hostas and similarly sized plants. It is an attractant as well as a pesticide, so it will attract slugs to the plants. But it kills quickly and slugs don't have a chance to get to the plant. I now have about 50-60 dead slugs, not one of which made it to the plant itself. I applied about 10 days ago and, despite some modest rains, it's still knockin' em dead. I have about 20-25 plants that need protecting, and the 2.5lb bag will last me a couple of years.

All of the rest of the products say not toxic to kids or animals. After wasting a lot of money I also discovered there not toxic to snail either. This is the only one that I found that is effective

This stuff really works. Put it out last night along the house and garage mulch, seventeen dead slugs today and actually probably more. BUT BE CAREFUL. It is obvious this stuff can be dangerous to many things so wear disposable gloves, a mask, long pants. I don't own cats or a dog and probably would not use it if I did. I disposed of the slugs first thing so birds didn't eat them.

Horrible year for slugs in the garden and flowers. I used this but had to buy another brand too can’t speak to effectiveness as Slugs destroyed my lettuce in ONE night !

I live in the pacific northwest where slugs are on the move year round.i discovered this product four or five years ago and found it to be the most successful in saving tender plants.i've always ordered and received at the same address but for some reason it's not available for shipping here now.amazon chat is a joke so guess i'll have to look elsewhere for a product that works.

Reduced snails a little bit. They still come around but are less noticeable prior to using Southern AG. Worked much better than 3 other products I tried. Was worried about a semi-feral cat I take care of, but she ignored the pellets. They get moldy looking in the soil area. Doesn't take much either. Hope it stores well.

Great product. Immediately took care of my snail and slug problem. Seems to last 3-4 weeks before I start seeing an occasional snail. I’ll be buying it again.
