Beware: Onewheels are addictive!
I was never much of a skate boarder as a kid. And being from Minnesota, never surfed much. But I LOOOOOVE to Snowboard. When I heard about this new electric board that rode like a snowboard and could float on anything from dirt, gravel, grass, or pavement, I was skeptical but optimistic. THEN they made a Big-Boy version, the Onewheel+XR! (I'm 6'3", 250Lbs, size 13 tootsies, and 55 years young) I was in heaven! For the next few days I was boarding everywhere. Learning seemed effortless. Floating thru the neighborhood felt like cruising on fresh powder. And the SPEED was exhilarating! I found myself cruising UPHILL at nearly 25mph!!!! Right up until I was flying into a nearly 25mph bellyflop on the asphalt. Talk about road rash! I looked like the flayed-man on the Bolton flag. Face, both arms, chest, belly, legs, all cheerfully bright and bloody. But the Onewheel was fine, so I jumped back on and cautiously floated to the urgent care clinic. The reason for this true story is just to state what should be obvious. Onewheeling is insanely FUN, very powerful, and if you are incautious, and NOT WEARING PROTECTIVE GEAR like helmet, wrist guards, knee pads etc. you WILL be injured. Possibly seriously. Still, it's insanely, gloriously, floating-thru-12"-of-powder-on-a-blubird-day splendiferously FUN!!! No regrets. My only sorrow is that I never outfitted it studded snow-tires for Mn winters.

Worth every penny!
Worth every penny! I have the newer XR version and it has completely changed my life! Unique, built like a tank, easy to learn but offers challenges to grow your skillset. Truly feels like snowboarding without snow!
