they will be absorbed by the ease of use and the fun of instantly seeing results of your actions
I just ordered this to go along with my son's copy of the Kodu software that he got from DreamSpark.com. The book hasn't arrived yet, but if anyone is wondering whether or not their child will respond to the software, the answer is undoubtedly YES. If your child has even a fleeting interest in video game programming, they will be absorbed by the ease of use and the fun of instantly seeing results of your actions. And the book will show him "tips and tricks" as the description promises. Totally no regrets about this purchase.

So far so good
My daughter is half way though and says it is pretty good. It has kept her interest. Is kind of fun(for programming). Gives good understanding of what you understanding of what you are trying to achieve and also why things are the way they are. Overall must be OK if she has gone half way so far.

My 11 year old loves it
My 11 year old has been really enjoying the kodu graphical language and he is programming all sorts of objects with different behaviors to make up his own games. I love that he enjoys it as much as he does right now. Can't wait to see what he does after a summer at Digipen this year.

Really neat book to teach kids to program games
This is a great book that is easy for kids to read. My son loves games like Mine craft and Kodu teaches kids to program like that.

Good book. The files are excellent that help with the exercises. I bought this book for a supply teaching assignment as I am an ICT teacher. The kids were impressed by my skills learnt on the hoof.Only 4 stars as the print is a little too small.

Hats off to the Kodu team. 3 daughters coding and loving it what more can I say
My 3 home educated daughters age 9+10 think Kodu is 'Epic' they have spent hours coding games without even knowing they are learning to code. Hats off to Microsoft and the team for such a great piece of free software. I got them started using this book and the you tube video available. Now they are referencing this book and teaching me the things they have learnt. They are all creative and love Minecraft but Kodu has been the next step at far they are concerned.

Really good book if you're starting your Kodu journey
Really good book if you're starting your Kodu journey. Starts really easy and builds up skills slowly. Sometimes a bit too slow for me as I felt the book over explained obvious things. Recommended.
