I used my growler to transport water, and when I put sparkling water into the growler, it exploded a bit, but that was to be expected due to the carbonation. Ooops. I find the lid a bit annoying to screw on, but once it's ON, it is snug and does not leak. When I added ice to my water, my water stayed cold for hours when I kept my growler inside. When I added ice and took the growler to the beach, it just kept the water cool. It was a very hot day in the 90s. I was still impressed. I can fit my entire arm up to the elbow inside the growler, but since I only add water, I just rinse it. I do not drink from my growler, and pour from it. It pours nicely into a wide mouthed Mason jar. I drink a lot more water at work because I now have this growler. Yay!

Most double-walled vacuum bottles work similarly, so picking the best one comes down to what they *don't* do.This bottle has no breakable plastic bits, no leaky 'easy drink' top, no small opening, no fragile threads, and no problems!The top is made of plastic, but is substantial with large coarse threads. I have no concerns about them wearing out or failing. Furthermore, there are rubber seals both above and below the threads, serving as backup leak protection, but also to keep the contents out of the threads. No way for juice, beer, etc. to gum up the threads. Some might appreciate a drinking spout of some kind, but that's simply impractical to use on a growler-size bottle. Instead, you'll have the hassle of leaks from any kind of carbonated beverage.The only concern I'd have for the knockoffs, in general, is to make sure the vacuum is there when you get it. Put something hot or cold in the bottle and wait a few hours. The outside should be room temperature, and the contents should be close to the temperature they started at. If not, ask for a replacement.

when I recieved the water bottle I was disappointed because it did not come properly packed like it was used. The carton had no cushion, it was slightly torn, not even sealed. I thought I should still give the product the benefit of doubt and thought if it didn't fit my needs I would return it.Pros-I wanted the bottle to keep my water hot. I prepare infused water at home using cumin seeds, cardamom and cloves and the water steeps through the essence. I filter this water and pour it in the water bottle and drink all through the day. It kept it hot for up to 8 hours.-There is no staining and the mouth is wide enough.-Although I pour hot water, the exterior is just warm and does not get warm.Cons-The packing could be better.-There is an initial plastic smell. I had to fill it with water for a couple of days, and then soap water for another day, to get rid of the plastic smell-The biggest disadvantage is the cap. The thread is small, so it is difficult to cap it properly and takes some getting used to.I will wait for a couple of months before buying 2 more bottles as the bottle cap looks a little flimsy and also want to test if the bottle could keep up the promise of keeping the water temperature. They should definitely concentrate on packaging.This is an updated review after using it almost daily.The lid broke and the thread is gone. The cap doesn't close properly. So now I have no use of this water bottle as I can't retain the water temperature if the lid doesn't fit properly.

The box it came in was super cute almost didn't want to get rid of it, perfect as a gift without wrapping! Fantastic that it can work for both hot and cold beverages, so far hasn't leaked on me looking forward to using it to take hot tea and water with me! Amazing customer service also!***UPDATE*** I have used this bottle for half a year now and the only problem I've encountered is that the lid breaks easily because its hollow; however customer service is very good and the have sent me a replacement lid and another on the way! THANK YOU! I LOVE THIS BOTTLE!

I’ve owned this bottle for about a week. It works great at keeping things hot and cold as it should. My only gripe is like other reviews mentioned, the lid on this bottle sucks.I was carrying it when all of a sudden it the lid detached out of my hand and the top of the cap fell off and the rest of the lid is stuck lodged inside the bottle. Now I’m trying to pry it open because the plastic lid is stuck inside.I have little confidence in this lid to hold a full gallon of contents in. It doesn't seem to be tested to hold up to 8.3 pounds of liquid + the weight of the container itself. This second warrants the same personal conclusion as the first: This is one seriously well made container! The lid is made of a solid plastic material with an excellent handle (all one piece). the container itself is outstanding. I expect that this will probably outlast me... it's that good. For the price, there is no way you are going to find a better one on Amazon.

Honestly, the things huge and does exactly what you want - holds water… I’ve had mine for a little over a year now and the inside is carrying this smell that I cannot for the life of me remove. It’s imbedded into the material of the bottle and no amount of cleaning or disinfecting detergents will work. I even ran it through the industrial dishwasher at a restaurant I work for, so be warned - especially for the price of this sucker
