This hair clip is super cute and good quality. The packaging made me feel I was getting a present from someone who loves me. I'd definitely buy this again

This barrette comes in a lovely package (though mine was crushed in shipping, so if I’d ordered it as a gift for someone, I would have had to return it.)It’s a nice barrette but in black it really is not that special. I don’t think it’s worth fifteen dollars. There are plenty of good barrettes for five dollars or less in the drugstore or supermarket. The only feature that is superior is that one side of the inner clasp is covered, making it slightly less slippery than average. It would have been truly nicer if both were covered, but then I suppose it would too small to hold the average woman’s hair.I can’t really comment on how well it holds one’s hair, as I have such thin and super fine “slippery” hair that it falls out of mine, but that’s pretty unusual. It has a very good lock (as do most barrettes of this type, though). It would be a good barrette for someone with an average amount of hair. For someone with very thick hair it’s probably not big enough. It works pretty well for me holding my hair up, but it still slips fairly quickly. I believe that is more due to my hair than than the barrette though, but I presume if you have super fine hair, you’ve probably already given up on this type of barrette. Still, if you’re like me, you’re probably always looking for one that is better than average. This is, but not enough for fine and thin hair.Bottom line: A title better than average barrette in a nice package. Many better deals out there. No sense paying so much for a gift package. Will hold an average amount of hair but if you have extremely thick hair, this problem isn’t big enough.

A beautiful barrette that holds fine on relatively thin hair. Seems very well made-much sturdier than any of my drugstore barrettes.

This barrette design was "in" when I was young. I remember them being so versatile, because you could use them for a partial ponytail (top of hair back) if you kept the inner metal part in, or remove that part and use the barrette on a full ponytail. So I was a little disappointed to see that there's no separate insert on this. The center is part of the overall design, attached, and not removable. That being said, I can put all of my hair back in it anyway, but it's a bit tight. I worry about bending that part out of being useful for a partial ponytail over time if used on all my hair. So that's why I'm giving the barrette less than four stars--I wish it were like the design I'm familiar with.But this one does have an upgrade--it has grippy, plastic stuff on the outer piece to help it stay in place.And I really like the design. I got the tangerine one. It looks very classy in the hair. Despite the name, the overall look is pretty neutral, so it goes with a lot of things.

This Evita Peroni large hair barrette in a tortoise shell design has a glossy finish and an upscale look. The subtle circular EP branding on the clip is attractive and adds interest. This barrette is about 3-1/2” wide and has a premium gold color clasp that says Made in France on it. It’s the good type of clasp that snaps securely into place and only pops open when I squeeze the sides at the clasp end. It’s a striking barrette that looks more like it’s from a boutique than the drugstore and is pretty enough to make a nice gift.The barrette still shows up against my dark brown hair even though it’s deep brown mixed with some lighter tortoise colors. I have fine hair that’s thin on the sides but medium thick on top and in back, and it holds my hair in place well when I pull the sides and the top layers of my hair up and clip my hair in back. This barrette secures well and never slides. I’ve worn it a number of times, and it has no signs of wear. While it’s too soon to fully judge durability, this looks like a good quality barrette. It exceeds my expectations for the current $14.99 price. Love it. 5 stars.
