I received this pan as a gift in December 2016, but have not found much occasion to use it until recently (I did not have occasion to bring it to my previous place of residence, and it remained packed until recently upon moving to where I live now). I decided to give it a go for browning chili meat; imagine my surprise when I picked up the pan and found a dusting of black flakes on my stovetop! It seems as if simply agitating it to move the meat, seated on an ordinary electric heat element, is enough to sand off the paint from the bottom of this pan.Extremely disappointing, both for me and undoubtedly for my aunt when I tell her about this.

The color shown here does not do this justice! It's more like a shimmery candy apple red. It matches my candy apple red kitchenaid (photo attached, you can't tell from that photo it's shimmery as well). Anyhow, obviously I am excited about the color. I made the purchase hoping it would match, and it's so close it might as well be spot on. How well does it cook? The heat distribution is amazing, though I am not a professional chef I cook all the time. Cleanup? Easiest cleanup ever!! I've never had a non stick pan that truly lived up to it's non stick. Technilon or whatever they're calling it is amazing. I actually bought another set that matches this, that came with a sauce pan, two sizes frying pans, and a grill pan. Very happy with my purchase. I bought another brand two years ago, you know the big C one, and was unhappy. That brand was not really non stick even though it purported to be, after use for about two months too the color got cloudy, because it was a painted on pigment it seems. We will see how this one holds up, but I hold out high hopes.
