Solar Power System Isolation Switch - Works Good for Me
Review of Cllena Battery Disconnect Switch for Marine - I’m building a solar power system for my shed and I needed a high current switch like this to turn off the battery power wired to my inverter. I’ve noticed through YouTube videos that other solar power guys are choosing this switch as well. This disconnect switch seems to be well built with heavy duty bolts for connecting the power cables. It is designed to give the buyer flexibility when installing the switch with removable side panels as well as a removable bottom panel to provide easy access for connecting the terminals. The switch must be pushed in before turning as a safety precaution to avoid accidental power interruptions. It also comes with mounting hardware. I highly recommend installing a high current fuse in-line with this switch and marine batteries for safety to avoid an over current meltdown of batteries and cabling in the event some unforeseen short circuit should happen.Around our home we have an evaluation question that goes like this “Knowing what you know now, would you make the same decision again?” So, Yes if I were choosing a switch for my solar power system to isolate my inverter I would choose this one again. Works great!
Very quick and easy install. Works perfectly. My old f 250 had a slow drain on it even with a brand new battery it died after a few weeks. After putting this on I can hit the remote button after I get out of the truck and don’t have to worry about it. Also a great theft deterrent !

Works perfect for my needs.
I like the remote control. I needed a cut off switch that was easy to install and was hidden. This fits the bill perfectly.

worked great, glad to isolate the batteries

Junk. Stopped working after a couple months.
Worked fine and then one day it stopped working and would not turn on manually or with remote. Waste of money and time installing and now have to uninstall and find another solution. It’s great for getting stranded when you least expect it.

Great Battery Saver
My BMW X3 often has a flat battery because it is parked in the garage and not used for weeks at a time. The anti-theft system and other parasitic elements drain the battery of its charge in between car usage. The disconnect switch was easy to install on the negative terminal with its red wire connected to the positive terminal of the car battery. I can now disconnect the battery remotely from the car while the car us not in use. This saves the battery from discharge when the car is not in use. When I reconnect the battery using the remote control key of the disconnect switch, the car always starts on first crank.I use a cigarette-lighter digital-voltage-read-out/USB-phone-charger device to monitor the battery voltage. Typically it indicated 12.7 volts when the battery is connected and the car is not running. You need an 1/2-inch SAE spanner to connect the disconnect switch to the negative battery terminal. The metric spanners supplied with a BMW will not do.

Works perfectly, no problems!
We have had problems with our travel trailer overcharging the batteries when on AC power. We are working with the manufacturer to correct the problem. In the meantime, we installed this switch to allow us to disconnect the batteries when at RV parks, etc. While this was meant as a temporary expedient, it will also be handy when storing the trailer when not in use.We installed the switch directly to the frame, adjacent to the battery compartment. This meant using metal screws rather than the bolts that came with it. I carved a notch out of one of the side panels for the wiring, then sealed the entire thing with black outdoor silicone glue. It is now dust and water proof -- and looks professional.

Diconnect Switch
It worked as expected for maybe six months or more and then it died on me, which of course if you have a parasitic drain, it also killed the battery. I have ordered another brand to test it's longevity.
