Dovetails take an extra level of time and precision in craftsmanship to execute properly but add that certain distinctive look to the box. I upholstered the interior of this box with a suede fabric. I've developed a custom, furniture-style upholstery technique for my boxes which results in a more luxurious feel than just lining the box bottom with material. Finished with a variety of products to enhance the grain as well as provide a high-shine appearance. Finishing is the most variable and potentially complex part of woodworking. I easily spend the majority of time in my builds in finishing. Many stages... many products are involved in order to achieve what you see in my final products.
