Great addition to our library
One of the best book that we have in our library! My daughter loves it!It's a story about how the world is changing, but friendship stays the same thought years, about how to be brave to make new friends and cherish them through good and bad times. It's an uplifting story, bright from a very begging! It teaches kids about some aspects of culture and cuisine. My daughter was fascinated by the letters in the Japanese portion of the book. It is a book that parents need to read first to prepare to answer some of the kids' question ( the answers are conveniently located on the last page of the book).

Amazing book!
Sunny’s books are the best way to understand the origins Japanese folklore. He has such a great way of telling a story and then giving the facts to support the folklore. I love his books!!

This is a fantastic bilingual book - exactly what I wanted to help teach my half-Japanese son a bit about his language and culture. The illustrations really are beautiful, and perfectly capture many aspects of Japanese life. I don't know how historically accurate the story is, but it's nice enough and has a few moral messages for young readers. I would recommend any of the other books by this author as well!
