Outstanding!
We have had well over half a dozen Canon Pixma printers over the years. They have all been very good value and excellent photo printers, which is important to us.The Canon Pixma G650 is by some margin the best, colour rendition and detail are outstanding. Setting it up is simple and the ink supplied fills the six tanks - none of the measly half filled cartridges of the past. It's early days to judge reliability and ink consumption, though I am pretty confident on both counts. It's a superb printer and can be highly recommended, photographs are brilliant, while normal print is excellent.

I bought this because the reviews claimed better colour print copies than others.
I bought this because the reviews claimed it makes better colour print copies than others. I found this to be true and I'm very pleased with the print quality. The software is pretty dreadful. Canon make their software so unnecessarily difficult. The instructions go off the screen because the the image designers want lots of white space on the screen. It doesn't tell you where it hides your scans. There are so few characters in the one line display it's not obvious what to do to scan. There is no point in this 10 or so character display as there is all the screen area needed on the computer screen. Why not just have a button labelled scan, one labelled photocopy and one labelled restart for after you have added paper. It is much better than my previous canon printer which had to be sent away to be repaired twice. A very expensive exercise as they are big and heavy with no guarantee they can be economically repaired. After the second breakdown I threw it away and bought this one. It's hard to see how much ink is in the tanks without a torch. Why not have a white LED behind each tank.

Great Little Printer
Having being fleeced like most for years using toner cartridges that have internal bags with tiny amounts of ink, I purchased this printer as my go to daily printer after hearing some very good reviews from family and friends about it.I have also experimented with several photographic papers in this printer and have been impressed with the results so far (albeit that this not the price point printer to expect great black and white prints).Unfortunately you have less control over this printer if you are an Apple user, as the air print driver is limited in its capabilities compared to the Windows software and drivers that are available from Microsoft. But if all you need this for is printing off some family pics and general everyday things, then this is a very practical and cheaper route to follow, with some impressive results for its price range. If you are a serious photographer expecting great black and white print capabilities, then this probably isn’t the printer for you, and the Canon Pro 200 or Pro 300 are probably a much better option, albeit well over twice the price. So then you will need to factor in the cost of the ink and A3 paper, but the print quality and speed will ultimately be what you are paying much more for.Haven’t used the copying or scanning function on this printer yet, so cannot comment on those functions.

most of the time the colour values are wrong and incredibly time consuming trying to get it to print
Bought this product for son's A Level art and did a lot of careful research before to find something that was good for photos. The extra expense was not worth it. it does not live up to expectations and this bit of machinery causes so so much stress. Trying to persuade it to print can take hours (not exaggerating) although wireless is good enough in our house it is not good enough for this printer. The colours are true for 2 / 10 of the picture eg starts printing in black and white (as desired) and then does the majority in a green tint - resulting in so much frustration. Doing all the maintenance and cleaning every time trying to print and doesn't help - i.e. this is not because nozzles are clogged or ink run out - I believe must be an integral error - especially as has got worse over time (now 2 years old). even getting it to print a simple letter is challenging

Very easy install via wifi easy 300gsm card feed
My old printer packed up ink absorber full, it was a ink tank Canon printer 5 or 6 years old.CONNECTION:The Pixma G650 so easy to install. I have no CD rom now, and computer is windows 11. You go to a web site to download. I was worried as once inks in bit difficult if have to send back. Need not have worried couldn't be easier. Connected to my router very quick, ( I have fibre broadband with sky), Connected to computer easily. A lot easier than when I last had to do this.SCANNER: works great just had to re enter (as it installs a new, but similar IJ scan utility piece of software), where I wanted scans to go to. You may want to make a note of your old settings, I nearly always use the ScanGear button on the software.INKS: Vibrant colours. Ink tanks definately cheaper to use than cartridges. Tanks lasted ages in my old canon.CRICUT USERS: It takes 200 GSM card with ease (to be precise Craft Creations 200 GSM cardstock from the Range shop) I tested a 300 GSM went through fine, although don't think you are supposed to put that thickness through. I think I will have to calibrate, again, via my cricut for the print and cut on cricut. No biggy. The user replaceable print heads and maintenance tank (which I believe is to do with the ink absorber) being replaceable is great. As far as I can see this part is about £9. The printer heads are about £44 each, there is a left and right one. The print heads are easy to put in. PS no usb supplied, didn't need it though set via wi fi. I'm not a computer whizz am an OAP so if i can set up so can anyone. I love it.

Good quality printer, easy to setup
The printer is pretty easy to setup, the ink comes in these sort of squeezy bottles & you upend them into the correct colour slots. The slots have different notches to prevent you loading the wrong colour ink into the wrong container. Connecting to my phone & setting up with the app was easy enough & printing from any device is simple. The only downside is speed, it's pretty slow printing anything. But if you don't print a lot of pages or photos then it's not really a bother. The print quality on photos is decent too, so I'm happy with our choice.
