I ordered this set so I could give one to my daughter. Well, I am not ready to turn loose of it yet. I am working my way through a seed sampler and like to have two kinds going at once. These jars are so easy to use! I had some trays that we've used for many years, but some of the seeds would wash through the holes whenever I rinsed the sprouts. I like using these jars now because I can see through the glass when I am rinsing, and I don't lose any seeds out the screened lids.

These are great sprouting jars, I also like the blue color lids. There is a big downside though, and that is the plastic lids. They do not tighten much, and will easily snap off when you try to tighten them. Several times I have had the lids fall off, the threads are not precise. The lids should tighten down firmly, but they do not. I bought two sets, so this was not a fluke, or bad luck, it's a problem with the design.These will work, and look nice, but I would recommend buying a set with metal lids, it's much more durable. The mason jars are not as well made as the Ball® brand mason jars either.

Everything came as advertised. There are a lot of these kits out there and not much that can go wrong, so hard to say if this kit is any better than others. There are a few reasons why I picked this kit.1) There is a tray for each jar, so if only using one jar it takes up less space.2) Liked that the lids were plastic as they will be exposed to a lot of water. Screen is still stainless steel.
