This product is amazing!
I took this product for 3 months and the results were so good that my doctor thought I was on statins. Then my wife tried it and after 3 months the doctor could not believe the results. The total cholesterol was down 75 points. I heard it does not work for everybody. In any case I would advised everyone that needs is to give it a try and see if it works for them. For us, it was a miracle with o side effects and extremely effective.

worked for my dad
When my dad was diagnosed with very high cholesterol, the dr. wanted him on statins, but our research showed all the dangers associated with them. We went to a health food store where the owner suggested this product, saying customers were very satisfied. After taking this, my dad's next cholesterol tests showed normal levels. I smoke so with the amazing results I started taking them on a regular basis. My husband has been diagnosed with high cholesterol now too, and after watching a video we found on Dr. Mercola on statins, he stopped taking statins. But, during his next checkup the doctor convinced him that natural products really don't work and he needs the statins and he bought into it. I just watched an interview on tv with a heart surgeon who promotes natural healing as well, who said even just eating 3 cups of beans a day has the same effect as statins, so there are natural solutions, and I'm glad some dr's do acknowledge that. You should take the recommended dosage however, not just one a day and expect fast results. In my research on statins I found out one of the reasons they're bad is because CoQ10 doesn't get to the heart, and one review I read suggested still taking CoQ10 with this product as well- I'm not sure if the policosanol would create this problem like statins do, but just in case, I do now take CoQ10 as well, which has it's own benefits anyways. I think the true test is to have your cholesterol checked, try this product if you feel comfortable not using the statins, and after 30 days have your cholesterol checked again and see how it works for you and then make a decision which way to go.

LOWERED CHOLESTEROL READINGS
My cholesterol was 231 in April so I bought this in hope to avoid taking a statin drug. I had bloodwork done 1 month later after taking this and cholesterol reading went down to 187. All my numbers improved nothing out of range anymore. I will definitely keep taking these as IT WORKS, and has no side effects.

my doctor wanted to put me on statins and some other type of drug that works in the gut - he recommended both. I refused stating
5 years ago, my doctor wanted to put me on statins and some other type of drug that works in the gut - he recommended both. I refused stating that I was not ready to make that leap. My husband looked up every type of holistic therapy and found studies on policosanol from sugar cane, so I thought that I would try it.I just had my annual checkup. Everything was normal! Imagine that! I am so happy with the results. I am definitely not recommending this for everyone as each person has to make their own decisions regarding their healthcare, but I have done well with this product. Policosanol is not the only change that I made, but one of a few.

Helps a lot of people, but not us - but worth trying
NOW is a reputable company. Policosanol is a natural and safe product. It is inexpensive and has helped a lot of people lower their cholesterol and triglycerides. I think it is a good choice to try if you want to avoid the muscle weakness and liver damage which can result from taking prescription statin pills.I originally took Policosanol as recommended by my MD doctor to try to lower my cholesterol and triglycerides. It didn't help me at all. Changing my food diet did the job!My husband, who exercises strenuously 5 days a week and eats the same foods I eat (we are the same blood type and therefore follow the same diet plan), has been taking statin drugs to keep his cholesterol low and finally realized that those drugs are so dangerous that it is much better to live with high cholesterol!!! So we decided to try the policosanol for him. After taking it for around 3 weeks he had his regular 6 month lab work and his total cholesterol and LDL are both high again. His triglycerides are still well within normal range. So it looks like this product isn't helping my husband either. Perhaps, like a lot of other natural products, it takes longer than a few weeks to work?
