One of my favorite books by Selina
I have some version of every one of Selina's coloring books, and I love them all. When I got an e-mail about the release of this book, I went to Amazon immediately and ordered it. This is definitely one of my favorites. If you're looking for a traditional Christmas book, this isn't for you. Santa doesn't make an appearance, nor does the Holy Family. However, the title of this one fits it perfectly....Festive Magic. We have gorgeous angels and fairies (including a candy cane fairy), a unicorn with cats, an adorable baby dragon, all with a festive wintertime theme. Some of the artwork is quite detailed. Others are a bit simpler, without a lot of background (see photos). There's something for all levels of colorists. You'll be glad to add this one to your adult coloring book collection. It will help you get into the Christmas season spirit!

Festive Holiday Designs with fantasy/pagan elements (not Christmas) – printed one side of the page
The media could not be loaded. This is exactly the type of holiday coloring book I would expect from Selina Fenech. Her previous coloring books are fantasy in nature, so it makes sense that her holiday (not Christmas per se) book would be a merge of fantasy and secular. If anything, I am reminded of pagan holiday scenes from stories, movies, etc. from England. Most of the designs are of angels who look rather more like fairies. The designs are detailed and some include intricate and small areas to color. This is what I experienced while coloring in this book and testing my coloring medium on the paper.25 x 2 copies each fantasy/pagan holiday (not Christmas) designs by Selina Fenech for a total of 50 coloring pagesDesigns are printed on one side of white, thin, slightly rough non-perforated paper typical of CreateSpaceGlue BindingEasy to open to flat position for coloringDesigns do not merge into the binding and there is plenty of room to cut pages out if you choose to do soAlcohol and water-based markers bleed through the page to some degree. Water-based bleed through in spots while alcohol-based bleed through freelyGel pens and India ink pens leave shadows of color on the back of page. India ink can bleed through if you use multiple layers.Coloring pencils work well with this paper. Both oil and wax based provide good color when I use multiple layers of the same color. I am easily able to blend (using a pencil style blender stick) and layer multiple colors as well. Hard lead pencils leave dents through the back of the page.Because of the bleed through and dents, I use a blotter page below my working page. I prefer card stock but several sheets of heavyweight paper work as well.

Selina's Magical Touch To Winter
Festive Magic - Fantasy Christmas is my 4th book by Selina Fenech. Like Night Magic it is one of my favorites. I love storys/movies like Lord of the Rings and Merlin. Selina's artwork of Fairies, Goddesses, sorceresses , witches; as well as unicorns and dragons . Are subjects I especially enjoy. I hadn't found these themes in a winter season /Christmas or Candlemas theme before. This was a fresh idea in seasonal coloring for me and I'm really enjoying these beautiful pictures.I just wish the paper in the books could be more like the quality of Jasmine Becket -Griffith. You need to be careful to use a blotter piece of cardboard between the pages not to bleed onto the next picture. In this book of 25 4 angels are printed in a bookmark style. I 'm planning to put on cardboard and add ribbons to them.As with all her books she includes a second set of each design divided into two books. Unlike other authors who put the designs in pairs. The book method is a nicer format in my opinion. This book includes :~25 designs in 2 book division.~all designs are printed on one side of the page with a title on the back for facing page.~ Paper is white and thin side. Gel pens will leave a heavy shadow. A blotter page should be used. I used Super Doodle and Color Technik Gel pens they showed shadowing but, no warping of the page.I would highly recommend this book to others that are looking to celebrate a festive fantasy and magical season.

Beautiful Art, Poor Printing
I wanted a non-denominational book for the holiday/winter season and I am very pleased with this book. It includes both fairies and angels, but they need not be "angels" if you don't want them to be. As usual the artist has included two copies of the images as well, so you can vary how you colour the 25 images. The only reason I don't give this 5 stars is the quality of the printing. It's copier paper at best, very thin, and even Distress Inks with a blending foam bled through. I've honestly never had that happen in crafting... The lines are also slightly choppy and almost pixelated in places, not the smooth, firm lines that one sees in other books. And very, very delicate on some of the pictures (like the one I coloured here). While I would have been better off buying the digital images from the artist and printing them at home since my regular printer paper is even thicker than this I'm satisfied that I didn't have to take the time to do that, and that the art is at least quality, even if the lines and printing are not. I'll purchase more of her books, but the buyer should beware of the mediums you might wish to use if you're used to higher quality colouring books. Anything but the lightest touch is (and did) warp this paper.

Great book but would really love to color in grayscale
I Love these pictures and I really really want this color book in grayscale. Since Ms.Fenech applied grayscale to many of her other popular color books I kept waiting and waiting and finally gave up and realized she was not going to grayscale this book before Christmas. I know that many colorist have stated they feel the same way as I do an will purchase this book again if done in grayscale and others that would purchase for the first time if done in grayscale.....
