For the price it is great, as long as you take your time and check where it says the stud is a few different times I've found it to be accurate. You can also set it to find metal which will pick up the screws/nails in the studwork which is like a double check. Some of the bad reviews are through incompetence of the user, even the much more expensive stud finders suffer from user incompetence bad reviews.

The media could not be loaded. I have wallpaper on my walls and have had issues with other similar detectors, some of them unable to even find the cable near a light switch. Once calibrated, this gives you a pretty good idea of where it’s safe to drill and where there might be wires. Totally recommend it!

Don't know why people are saying they can't find studs with this? Tested on a wall and found them easy no problem at all. Read instructions first then use.

Found it not to be accurate on ceilings or older larv and plaster walls. Newer plaster board walls was better but not if power lines were close to the plaster board in the walls. I wouldn’t recommend it.

After pondering whether I should drill or not, I decided to buy this. And what a brilliant bit of kit. Finds studs and AC wiring... very easy to use. And very accurate. Not sure how I've got through life, and done so much DIY without it!! Highly recommended.

I tried for about 2 hrs. to get this to work reliably, but came to the conclusion that hammering a nail into the wall to test, would be just as reliable. The red ac. wire warning light was on constantly, whilst unit was placed against the wall, (telling me all my walls were electrified?). To add insult to injury, when I went back to "My orders" to check if I was using it correctly, next morning, I found it had been reduced by £2.As a retired electrician, I certainly could not recommend this item.

Does as it says, comes in very handy for the odd job around the house. Really good price, and a must have to ensure you don't have any costly DIY accidents. Larger than expected but easily fits in work pockets or tool bag pocket.Accuracy is good also, tested on areas I know for sure are pipes, electrical and studs.
