Amazing book for meditation!!
This has been an awesome book. I have suffered with anxiety for years. My Doctor recommended this book to me as he has some anger issues, and meditation has worked wonders for him and his mindset. I decided to give this book a try. This book has seemed awesome. It gives a very good guide and walkthrough for 8 weeks of meditation. The book gives good stories of how meditation works, simple meditiations to do, and how to start changing your mindset. It has been amazing.I am almost done with my fourth week of going through this book and it has done wonders already. By the third day of meditation, my sleep habits had already started changing. I know fitbits aren't the most accurate when it comes to sleep, but, I've had mine for about a year and a half, and my sleep readouts have almost always looked the same. That is until now. About three days after I started this meditation routine, my sleep habits changed dramatically. Instead of having a ton of little restless lines and several wake-ups every night, I now have large chunks of sleep time where no restlessness occurs, and I feel great.Also, during the day, things don't seem to bother me as much. Granted, I'm nowhere near where I want to be still, but honestly some of the tricks in here, and the ideas and ways to focus on your breath, in and out, have really helped me stay out of having anxiety attacks.I would highly recommend this book for anyone who has even had an inkling to try meditation, or for those that haven't and need help relaxing or helping ground themselves. This book is awesome, and I am excited to finish going through it!

LOVE love love..... Helped in many areas of my life
I am not even done reading yet and I love it........ I am part way through chapter 6 I believe, and this book, and meditation in general, is seriously changing my life for the MUCH much better. My meditation instructor Martha, studied with Sarah McLean at her institute in Sedona, AZ. And she is just wonderful. So much so that I am considering becoming an instructor myself.I am so glad I found this book and meditation. It's helping me in my career, stress management, home life, and social life. I bought it on paper and kindle just in case I need to randomly look something up and I don't have my book on me (which is why I logged in today actually, to reread a specific paragraph hehe).Anyway, highly recommend this book and Sarah McLean!

changed my life
Great Book. I had some issues with anger and sought help in therapy. I came across this book at that time. I used this book in the manner that the author suggested, I read the book through first then went back and did the 8 weeks of reading and application. I am in my 60's and I wish I had this resource in my early life. This is not a book espousing any kind of religion. I was raised Christian and it in no way contradicts my beliefs. I am thankful to have read and applied this to my life. If you practice meditation and mindful awareness your views and life will change for the better. Thank You Sarah.

A Peaceful Mind
Sarah's approach to help one apply the meditation suggestions is very calming, no pressure as this is a practiced art in one's own time. No guilt if your mind wanders when you meditate. You can choose your own mantra to quite your voice in your head. I have applied the suggestions, and I have reached a peaceful mind. It is only for 12 minutes per day and she gives you practical times to fit this in your busy schedule.

The exercises were simple and easy to follow
In 8 weeks, Sarah's book truly helped me transform my life. The exercises were simple and easy to follow. As a beginner, I read other books and tried to follow other guided meditations and they were too "out there" and "New Age-like" for me to feel comfortable. Sarah's book allowed me to take my time and ease into a daily practice I had wanted but was trying too hard to achieve through others. Her Meditate CD was also helpful in gently guiding me into my new mindfulness practice. Thank you Sarah!

Extremely helpful
I have tried to meditate off and on but I have always become frustrated and quit. This book was what I have been looking for. The author has so much to teach. Probably her most important lesson is to see meditation as practice looking at your own thoughts and emotions. As such, distraction is not failure. Instead, I now see that noticing distraction is really a central part of meditation. Sitting is really justpracticing habits that I can draw on throughout the day. I am no longer focused upon having an "experience" while meditating. The pressure is off. This is just one example of why reading this book is absolutely worth your time.

Effective and fun to way to learn meditation!
Wow! This book was helpful and effective in walking me through the meditation process.As a new 'meditator' I've been looking for a method that resonates and works. This book broke down the process into steps that are easy to follow, while keeping the learning fun!I admit to reading other books and I've even attended classes - the writers/leaders always seemed to complicate the process and keep me in my head. This author demystified meditation and successfully guided me toward my goal.Again, I'm a new 'meditator', but I already find the benefit. There's a calm and clearness on the days I meditate - thank you thank you thank you Soul-Centered!!! I highly recommend this book.

A great compilation of Sarah's years of experience
I've read and tried many forms of meditation in the past 4 years. I really loved how Sarah has compiled all her experience and knowledge into this 8 week program. It's non-denominational so for everyone. The program gives you a guideline to follow, versus a book that just provides you the knowledge. During the 8 weeks, you are learning and practicing different forms of meditation including mindfulness practices. You may find one form of meditation works better for you than another and that may lead you to continue practicing that form. Even if you don't think you are ready to meditate, the knowledge alone about non-judgmental living, loving yourself, compassion and more are very good. I can't say enough about this book!

An easy to understand and slow progression to two 20-minute mediation sessions which I found easy to understand and not overwhelming to attempt.
