Not Dirk Gently
Very little to do with the original books or even the BBC series which was at least faithful to the character. Dirk is in America and get involved in an ancient evil but apart from the name there's very little connection to the books. The character is unrecognisable and taking him out of his normal environment may seem a good idea but really doesn't work.
