The thermometer is very easy to use and accurately records the temperature. I was pleased with this digital thermometer.

After using an old fashioned thermometer with a needle to indicate temperature, I decided to get a more accurate reading with digital. First batch of fudge turned out great! Love the accuracy. Very easy to use and store.

I purchased this thermometer this week, and have not used it for its intended purpose yet. However, I have used all of its features and inserted it into boiling water to see what the reading would be. My initial impressions follow.1. Ease of use and readability. This is a primary reason for the purchase of this thermometer. The display is large LCD numbers and there is a backlight. There is also a button that causes the thermometer to audibly announce the temperature, a great feature.2. Length of probe. When fully extended, the user’s hand is far enough away from the heat source so as not to be a problem.3. Size & weight. There is a good “feel” to this device. It doesn’t feel flimsy and fits well in my hand.4. Things I’d change. It is a little difficult to unfold the probe from the case, you have to grab the pointy end. Second, the buttons themselves don’t give a good tactile feedback, and take a couple of tries to successfully push them.5. A needed feature or two. I’d like to see a default condition where the temperature, when stabilized, is frozen on the display. I’d also like a “beep” when the high temperature is reached. Finally, a calibration control would be good. My thermometer was 1.4° too cool, reading 210.6° when I moved it through a pan of rapidly boiling water.I’d buy this again and would recommend it for a friend. As a matter of fact, I’m going back to Amazon and getting one for each of my sons-in-law right now.

It is not "instant," it takes as long to measure temp as my other, non-instant thermometer... it's basically the same thing in a different case, except the voice function which is basically worthless unless you have very bad eyesight and can't read the display. It's an okay thermometer, I guess (except my wife can't pull out the probe sometimes). But don't buy it expecting it to actually be an instant read.

Has been working very well and providing accurate temperature reading. Can choose whether it announces the temperature or not. Lights up if you need to see the temperature better. Shuts off when you close the temperature needle. I love it.

This thermometer works great. It's fast and easy to read, even speaks the temp! Outperforms thermometers you spend much more for.
