Color Ain't Important
This is a great utility knife. It is very durable and highly versatile, and of course affordable. The only issue is that I ordered a green one and got a black one. That's not a big enough problem to return it. It's a good knife.

Very good valuefor a sturdy she ath knife
The Glock knife is surprisingly sturdy. The blade is not that deep but it is relatively thick. Although the tang does not go all the way through the handle in full width it still feels very solid. You can buy beefier, sturdier knives but you will pay twice as much or more. the knife came pretty darn sharp. I touched it up on an extra fine diamond sharpener, but it was much sharper than many knives come from the factory. I really can't believe the quality of the knife for the low price. The saw back actually looks functional and not just "survival bling". The teeth are beveled and sharp so it likely will saw through wood better than hacking repeatedly with the blade. The plastic sheath has a small sturdy clip that overhangs the metal handguard to keep it secure and rattle-free. Push it out from the handle to release. If you needed to do emergency digging in the ground this knife would be perfect for punching through hard clay, sawing roots, and thick enough not to bend. This is not a hunting knife--buy a nice inexpensive Buck knife for hunting. This is a sturdy camp/survival knife that is affordable to have in your camp box or truck tool box and not worry about abusing it. Generally I cringe at the thought of whacking the back of a knife to pound it through some wood like some bushcraft folks are fond of doing. In the case of the Glock knife I think it would stand up to it and split wood pretty handily and I would not mind beating on it. It looks like it challenges you to try to beat it up!

Glock's First Weapon
Unbeknownst to me prior to this purchase, before Glock produced their famous firearms the first weapon they ever made was the Glock 78 knife. It was the company's prior work in polymer manufacturing that lead to the innovative handle on this knife, and later to using polymers for pistols and other firearms. The adoption of the Glock 78 by several European militaries as the standard battle knife has made it iconic. The handle feels flimsy because of its light weight, but is has been proven on the battlefield for decades as the overseas answer to the Ka-Bar. It came with a factory sharpness that easily shaves paper, and arm hair. The black finish is high gloss and is a bit uneven on the two I received, having small drip trails. It is only cosmetic though, serving mainly to protect the carbon steel from rust. Ideally it would have a matte finish like the Ka-Bar, but so be it.I haven't used it much so I can't speak to the durability or edge retention. However, at about half the price of the Ka-Bar it is an excellent comparative blade. I would feel differently if they were the same price, but I got two (green/gray) for less than I paid for the single Ka-Bar I have.Put this in your go bag or attach it to the molles on the front. It is light, sharp, and proven.

Hard to sharpen but now it's perfect
The knife didn't come very sharp but after putting some elbow grease into it for about 45 min I got it super sharp! Happy with it so far but still haven't done much testing yet.

It's a Glock from before they made guns
Glock made knives and Entrenching tools for the Austrian Army well before they started making guns. They still make them. Good rugged field equipment for reasonable prices.

Good quality and durable
I received this knife today and straight out of the package it feels like a good durable knife. I used it briefly and noticed it wasn’t very sharp but with diligence and a lot of effort I was able to get e decent edge on the blade. The handle is comfortable and I really like the feel. The saw on the back of the blade has an interesting design and seems to be effective for cutting through small diameter limbs. I would recommend making the purchase. I’m pleased with this product so far.
