Waldameer History and Pictorial Gift Book
Images of America Waldameer Park was researched and written by Jim Futrell, historian for the National Amusement Park Historical Association. The book is a treasure of photographs and stories about every era of Waldameer from 1896 to the present day. Waldameer would make a lovely gift book for anyone who has fond memories of the park. I had heard from my grandmother about her dancing at Waldameer in the early 1900s. The book shows pictures of the dance halls. There are a couple of photos of the famous Monkey Island I had heard stories about and many other beautiful photos of the history of Waldameer. Jim Futrell's narrative is easy to read and informative. Like another reviewer here, I wished some of the photos had been in color. I also wish some local stories about how people's lives had been touched by Waldameer had been included. Nevertheless, Waldameer Park is a lovely book.

I love this book
Loved it! I grew up at Waldameer Park practally! We were always there in the Summer months. The history of the park is very interesting to me and I loved the photos too. I purchased this copy for my son who saw mine and wanted one for himself. I actually purchased mine from the park itself and it was more expensive by about $7.00.
