Quality mini instrument.
I am grown up, amateur musician. I wanted a very portable, fun keyboard. I have often bought children's novelty electronic keyboards.I went in a different direction this time. After extensive amazon research, I got this as my Christmas present to my self. Good move, Santa Claus. It's a classic. The wood is beautiful. The design is beautiful It makes people smile just to look at it.The sounds are mechanically struck. This may not matter for a kid's toy, but it matters to me. These are musical tones.Yes, they are high and chimey. So they are funny, but they are not unpleasant.I keep this little piano on my desk so I can sound out tunes when I hear them on the radio. I take it to out door jam sessions and street parties. I just cannot tell you how much joy it brings, nor how beautiful it look in my home. (Note: I did not attach the legs. They are plastic and I don't need them)This a quality if tiny and limited instrument. I would not recommend for toddlers or others who just want to bang away. It needs to be treated with respect.Recommended for students and enthusiasts. A serious purchase.

Great quality, chime-based tones
We have so much fun with this little guy. It’s taken up residence on the coffee table and the adults and tweens and family cat use it frequently to soundtrack our own daily journey. It’s a blast.

Too Much Fun!
First, this is not a full-sized grand piano. That should be clear by both the description and other details that are included in the listing. Second, this is not really a toy. So what is it? A wonderful small keyboard of excellent craftsmanship and wonderful sound. Think smallish celesta. The touch is very light because of its size and the sound is much like a music box. Although the 2.5 octave limits the repertoire, it is remarkably fun to play. My wife and I are working on a duet of the Stars and Stripes Forever and are planning to use it for the piccolo obbligato. If you are a keyboard geek and love novel instruments, this is definitely for you!Quick note about shipping. This arrived from Japan, ahead of schedule by more than two weeks and very well packaged.

A bit more than a toy.
This is a nice good size miniature grand. While the range is limited because of the limited number of keys, it is tuned and playable. The only downside for me is that the action is quite noisy. It does seem to be quite well-made as I would expect from the maker

Beautiful toy piano!
Picked one of these up for my niece. It is very nicely made. I also appreciate that it’s manufactured by a real piano company — Kawai — in Japan. Most of the other toy pianos I looked at were all no-name brands. Sound is great, too (more like a music box than an actual piano, but still very pleasing).

A beautiful miniature soundscape
This toy piano has solid, warm and twinkling sound. Closed, I can play more muffled and quiet sound and opened, bright and piercing sound like a glockenspiel. Having 31 keys, I can really play a wide range of music and sound effects. Fast shipping.

Customer Care
We have had it for almost 2 years and it can really handle children banging on the keys. The nuts that hold the lid in place got lost. We tried to contact Kawai in the US but they were unresponsive. How can I get a replacement for the nuts? thanks
