Cliche ridden
It's been years since I read "Tangled" by this author, and I don't remember much of it, but I'm pretty sure it was at least kind of funny. This book lacks humor. It's pretty much every cliche that's already been published in NA books: manwhore H who is impossibly good-looking and rich...an h who has limited sexual experience yet is "amazing" in bed...of course she's poor and needs to be rescued...her BFF is a walking gay stereotype...the ending is completely unbelievable. The only character I really liked was the queen.I read this book every night before going to sleep and it took me almost two weeks, because I kept finding sleep more appealing. Maybe instead of writing a review I should just post a video of an old lady yelling, "Get off my lawn!"

Overall Opinion: This was a cute, relatively light read. I enjoyed the royalty aspect, because that was something different. I did find a few similarities to other stories that I made note of. We had the Christian Grey helicopter pilot and shaving similarities, as well as the pretty woman polo game and colleague proposition similarity. It didn't bother me, but they just stood out to me as something to note. I was frustrated with the unanswered questions I was left with in the abrupt ending, because I needed better closure! I think it would've made the book so much better if we didn't have the epilogue directly after the conflict was resolved! It would've given time to better explain what happened with both of their families and to properly set up a future for them. As it was, I was a little confused by some of the stuff that was thrown in the epilogue to briefly handle some of the big issues the couple faced. There were also a few time jumps that I wish had explained what had happened during that time that we missed a little better (especially the polo match conflict), because it felt a little like the issue was being swept under the rug.**See Goodreads.com/NMmomof4 for my full review with spoilers**Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Olivia and Nicholas's story. Olivia is struggling to keep her Dad's restaurant open and take care of her family, and she is not all that thrilled to be propositioned by a hot guy one night. Nicholas has been given an order by his grandmother the queen that he has 6 months before he needs to make an engagement announcement to help unite his country. He is in the US trying to get his brother back home, and he is instantly attracted and intruiged by Olivia when he meets her. He starts pursuing her, and she gives in for a summer fling. There is some family and royalty drama, some sexy times, and some funny moments...but they do get a HFN ending.POV: This alternated between Olivia and Nicholas's POV.Overall Pace of Story: Ok. I did have a few issues with some of the time jumps and the abrupt ending (see closure section). I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well otherwise.Instalove: No, they take a while to develop stronger feelings. Instalust? Yes.H rating: 3.5 stars. Nicholas. I liked him until he pushed the h away. He did make up for it in the end.h rating: 4 stars. Olivia. I liked her. She was sweet, loyal, and sassy. I liked how she treated the H like she would anyone else, and called him out when needed.Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed.Push/Pull: YesHeat level: Moderate. They have some hot chemistry and scenes, but not so much it takes away from the storyline.Descriptive sex: YesOW/OM drama: YesSex scene with OW or OM: NoCheating: NoSeparation: YesClosure: This had another ending with the conflict being resolved and then went straight into the epilogue -- I want some time in between! I also had a lot of unanswered questions, and the way the ending was presented it was just too abrupt for my liking. I would call it a HFN because of my unanswered questions, but others might call it a HEA.How I got it: I paid the $4.99 on Amazon for it.

It was okay, but would have been so much better if the Prince wasn't such a jerk!
I really liked this story, although I could have done with a lot less torrid sex scenes. And when I say sex scenes, I mean very long drawn out explicit sex scenes that leaves nothing to the imagination. And not just one, either. This book is completely littered with them. I am in no way a prude when it comes to a good sex scene, but this story bordered on the side of exotic romance.I wasn't to sure about Nick in the beginning, the way he acted like such a jerk on the day they first met. But then Olivia put him in his place, and the way the sparks flew between them had me changing my mind. But...then he towards the end of the story turned back into a complete jerk again. He never once took into consideration of how Olivia was feeling about being in a strange country and all alone for the most part. Nor did he think anything was wrong about asking her to hang around as his mistress, while he married another woman and started a family. Really??? How disgusting!!! She already felt like she wasn't good enough for him, and the way the Queen and some of the staff treated her well....that just about put the last nail in her coffin, right? Of course not, because the back-bone she had when we first met her----and it's the one thing I loved about her the most----was gone, and a doormat took her place.Of course there was a lot of hilarious moments, as well as a few tear-jerking moments, too. I loved all of the characters, except maybe the Queen. Although I did think that the Queen and Prince Henry (younger brother) were excellent characters in this story. But where I felt a little sad for Henry for all he'd been through in his short life, I actually felt nothing but pure hatred for the Queen! She could have change the laws where Nick and Olivia were concerned, she just wasn't willing to budge. Talk about controll freak!!!I had a real love-hate relationship with this book. I absolutely love parts of it, and I really, really hated other parts.

Oh dear
This is really silly. For a start the author has virtually just taken Prince William and his brother Harry (christened Henry), merged their stories, and called them Nick and Henry! OK so both Nick and Henry's parents died in a plane crash whereas only one of William and Harry's died (in a car crash) but she still has them following the coffins in a funeral procession on live tv. Nick supposedly is heir to a kingdom somewhere in the UK next to Scotland that was given to his ancestor in some strange way by Robert the Bruce (someone didn't read either their history or geography books at school). Also Nick speaks like an American other than he calls Olivia 'love' - no British man does this but huge numbers of American authors think they do.Beyond all that stupidity, Olivia appears to be one of life's victims and Nick arrives, drunk in her bankrupt coffee shop, is unforgivably rude but by the time he comes back sober and apologises he IS forgiven mainly because he is so good looking. I gave up at 46%. Oh yeah - there's a huge amount of swearing which is more than fine by me but will out a lot of people off.

What She Refuse To Do and What He Did For Love
Exquisitely as a hero, Prince Nicholas is gorgeous, charming, handsome and sexy. He can also be captivating as well as arrogant. He is wealthy and lives in a sumptuous palace, with personal security and servants. In fact the whole enchilada. The heroine, Olivia Hammond is hardworking and an independent woman but poor. Yet she makes and sells scrumptious pies though she actually hates them. And when she first meets Prince Nicholas in her shop on a cold snowy night and he gives her an indecent proposal she squashes a pie in his face. She has ethicsThe Prince is use to getting his own way and wheeling power. So being told "no" leaves him puzzled and confused. And after he does a good deed for children from a home, Olivia relents and agrees to go out to dinner with him. But what should she wear? His Queen gives him five months of freedom before he has to get married and he decides to spend this time with Olivia. But when he is called home after two months he persuades Olivia to go with him. How is she received by the Queen and other couriers? Will the Prince give up his succession to the throne for his love for Olivia? You MUST read this book. Being royalty is not as easy as it looks.

Cheese please!
Royally Screwed was a really enjoyable read.It was paced really well, it was never boring, it made me laugh out loud and I teared up a few times, mostly at the sappy moments.Nicholas is charming, flirty, closed off and at times completely clueless about women which makes me love him even more.Olivia is such a sweetheart, bless her heart for thinking she could resist those dimples. She is the kind of character I'd like to know personally. What I love is how Emma managed to make all of the characters stand out in their own way, the security team, the quirky sister, the best friend who has zero tact, the broken brother. I love them all.At times the gooey eyed descriptions were a bit cheesy but it felt natural due to how the characters were written.I got this book on kindle and I'm going to buy it and the rest of the Royally series on paperback. I can't wait to read more from Emma. Here's one of my favourite moments from the book;‘Walking up to the apartment, I feel like a James Bond martini—shaken—but also stirred.’That line made me laugh so much.

Royally Emma
As always with the announcement of a new release from Emma Chase I was excited to read this book. Moreover it’s the start of a series and if I’ve learned anything from her Legal Briefs series they just keep getting better the more you read. This book is all about main characters Olivia and Nicholas and is the first book in Emma’s Royally series.Olivia is constantly struggling against the ever rising tide to keep her late mother’s coffee shop above water. She’s feisty and caring and is doing her upmost to make the best life for her sister. I felt sorry for Olivia throughout because she’s got a lot of expectation on her shoulders, from herself and her father. Then Nicholas walks is suave ass into her life and changes everything.Nicholas and his upbringing are the antithesis of Olivia and hers. Where Oliva battles for every penny Nicholas comes from a life of unbridled privilege. Nick is in New York to retrieve his hell raising brother Henry and I’m already looking forward to reading Henry’s story. It definitely feels like he’s loosely based a Prince of our own.Nicholas and Olivia share the narrative throughout the book which serves well because while both characters are so different their chemistry is so immediate that seeing both of their perspectives allows you to feel swept up without feeling like the story is moving too fast. Nick is often quite crass and at first really shows himself up. Olivia has more decorum than Nick at some points throughout. I loved that she was able to keep him on his toes and put him in his place when he needed it.If you’ve enjoyed Emma’s books in the past or if you are fans of Christina Lauren’s series’ I am sure you will enjoy this. Royally Matched, the 2nd book in the series featuring Nicholas’ brother Prince Henry, is out in February.

An enjoyable read
An enjoyable Royal romance which ticks all the boxes: rich Prince, poor girl; a summer fling that means more than it should; two people who should never be together; duty versus love. The storyline may sound a little clichéd, but this is anything but. It’s a smart, swoony read with red hot bedroom action and the whole story clicks together nicely. Well worth spending your time lost in its pages.
