Terrific book!
I am thoroughly enjoying this book. Though I have been a fan for decades, my reading has primarily been focused on the Beatles, and I have only recently started reading more in depth material on McCartney alone. It is well written, and the author has bundled the interviews by subject matter rather than in chronological order, which I find to be a logical organization. It's fascinating to hear Paul unfiltered; one can really hear him and his attitudes through his own words, rather than possibly being manipulated by taking snippets out of context. The author seems to truly enjoy and like Paul, and he doesn't come off as cloying. This is not a biography, and it is entirely fitting that many kind things are said about Paul without the need to seem unbiased by trying to rake up any dirt. Besides, Paul IS great!

GREAT book!!
Wonderful intimate read! Seeing how the author has developed a friendship with McCartney over the years, he (McCartney) is much less guarded in the interviews, which makes for GREAT interviews. I've read my fair share of Beatle/McCartney books over the past 25 years or so (I have a Beatle library of over 150 books), and honestly, this is probably one of my favorites. Paul (author) asks the questions I've always wanted to hear answers to, and McCartney, in turn, answers with great candor. I really loved this book, and found it hard to put down once I started reading. I finished it within a few days, only because I have a 3 year old, and I can't get away with having my nose buried in a book for long periods. If you are a Beatle/McCartney/Classic rock/Music fan, then buy this book! You won't be disappointed!

Spend some time with two fascinating Pauls!
Enjoy some time with Paul McCartney, and as an added bonus, enjoy your time with Paul Du Noyer, a skilled interviewer and fine writer. The author knows his subject, knows music, and understands its history. His commentary adds a lot and makes this really good read a great read. I especially enjoyed the parts on Paul's songwriting.Du Noyer might sand off some of Paul's harder edges (assuming he has some), but you do get a sense that Paul has both feet on the ground, despite the unprecedented fame and adulation (from people like me!). As Du Noyer says, "I came away with the idea that Paul McCartney is a decent guy, who happens to be a genius." I did too. It's nice to know that about someone you've admired for decades. This is the closet any of us will get to spending time with THE music legend. I'm jealous as hell of the author, but I'm thrilled that he put this book together. Thanks!

Truly Excellent
A unguarded glimpse into the character of Paul McCartney, from a man that has worked with him for years. Quite illuminating and a very satisfying read.

One of the best books about the most fascinating ex-Beatle
I’ve read quite a few “Beatle bios” and find this among the most compelling, possibly because much of it is spoken by Paul himself.

McCartney lets down his defenses
Not a whole lot of new information here for aficionados but it's clear that McCartney is comfortable talking with Du Noyer. Very few hardball questions and it's also clear that Du Noyer likes his subject. The interviews help to flesh out the portrait of a man that is already so well known.

Fascinating discussions - and well written too
Cracking insight into the enigma of the 20th century’s greatest popular composer (sorry Porter, Gershwin, Rodgers, he just is) - he may not like his music or his life being analysed, but talk to him for long enough and he reveals plenty!
