Good lid
Happy to be able to buy a replacement lid. My bottle is fine, but the rubber on my OLD (years and years) lid had become discolored and was peeling a bit. No leaks, drinking surface stays covered when closed, lots of colors. Good quality.

I was so happy to see that Nalgene makes these replacements! Works perfectly for my water bottle

Very nice lid. If you need a replacement, give them a try, but I'm not sure if it's worth the cost to upgrade outright.
I partially freeze my water bottles for the day over night, and every so often I accidentally leave one in there. When that happens, occasionally the bottle itself will crack, but more often than not, the threads on the lid just get shredded up and the cap bursts off, so I end up replacing a lid a month or so. when I saw that these were something like $1.50 more, I decided to give them a shot. Here's a few quick pieces of info for future buyers.Pros:-The spout is great. I always get the large mouth nalgenes because it's easier to throw lemon slices in there if I want, and it's much easier for cleaning, but the big mouth can be awkward. This is a pretty good compromise. The spout is about the size of a glass soda bottle (probably a little thinner) and very comfortable to drink out of, but removes for cleaning.-These seem way sturdier than I expected. Nalgene always makes nearly indestructible products, so I don't know why I was surprised, but something about the design seems . . .tenuous. I can assure you, it's not. This is a very substantial product. We'll see how it survives a fall if I mishandle it rock climbing, but for day to day use, I have no doubt that this would survive a fall from head height.-The lid closes with both a plastic catch/push button on the front, and a wire swing gate. This thing is not coming open by accident. My guess is that it would break before it opened in a drop.-I've hung it by a carabiner and attached it to my bike already and it doesn't seem any worse for wear. The loop is definitely handle worthy.-The closing mechanism is a little stiff to provide a solid seal, but I have absolute confidence that there won't be any leaks or drips.Cons:-This obviously adds to the height of the nalgene. It's not much, but it just so happens to be just enough to make it catch on the zipper on my messenger bag, so I'm sure I'm noticing it way more than anyone else would.-The only part on the lid I'm even slightly worried about is the push button mechanism. It seems very sturdy, but getting opened dozens of times a day every day might be rough. I will update if it ever snaps. If I haven't updated, you can assume the latch is still holding firm.Any other complaints I have are cosmetic, so I can't really hold them against the product. It would be cool if there were more colors (the bottle I needed this for was orange). I like the classic nalgene look, these look a little over-designed for my tastes. All and all, when I wind up screwing up a new lid, I'm not sure which way I'll go. It'll probably depend on how this top is holding up. I definitely won't be upgrading unless the current tops on my nalgenes get damaged. A nalgene on amazon is something like $12, parting with $7 for a lid upgrade seems a little silly to me, but if I'm replacing the lid anyways, it's probably a toss up between the classic ones and these. If you need to replace your lid anyways, check them out.

Use it every day
This is the second Nalgene replacement cap (same style) I have purchased: I liked the first one enough to buy it again. It is indeed leak proof: has never failed as long as it is fully closed, using the flip-up metal closer. Two things you should consider: 1) the small rectangular plastic latch, on the flip-top, cracked in the middle on my old replacement cap, after much daily use. Still works, but needs the flip-up metal closer to make it secure; 2) mold eventually appeared on the soft rubber seal inside the flip-top, right around where it contacts the drinking spout. I am diligent about cleaning the cap, and it won't scrub off. Another family member had the same experience with this cap style. But since it functions so well, I feel it's worth it. I have taken this hiking; threaded the flip-top through my backpack loop, locked it down with the metal closer, and it stayed put. Will buy again.

Water-Tight!
I carry my tall Nalgene inside my tote bag on the trip to work, so a water tight lid is essential! Cap is sturdy, easy to use and fits beautifully.

Easy to use and works well
I previously had a Hydro2Go lid with a flip cap on the spout. It worked well enough, although the button to open the cap wasn't very easy to find. But then I knocked it off my desk onto a carpeted office floor and it immediately broke. Looking for a replacement, I settled on this lid, since I've been a Nalgene fan for decades. It's even easier to open than the Hydro2Go. The release button is not recessed so it's easy to find. To prevent accidental opening, there is a wire loop that can snap over part of the cap. The Hydro2Go had a spring-loaded cap that flipped out of the way, but the Nalgene is just as convenient as I can flip the cap open and closed with my index finger. The main loop is comfortable to carry the bottle with yet never in the way like the rubber handles on the Takeya-style lids can be.The one problem I had seems to be unique to Bubba bottles. It appears this brand has shorter threads than standard, so any replacement lids bottom out before they contact the lip of the bottle, leading to leaks. After considering my options, I pried the silicone gasket out of the broken Hydro2Go lid and stretched it around the base of the Bubba bottle's threads. That gives me a good seal and has stopped the leak.

Love it!
Easy drink access and strong handle.

One handed
Makes the Nalgene truly a one handed operation. No easier than ever to open and chug down whatever beverage your heart desires. Only complaint is that the white gets dirty and looks bad quickly.

Perfect replacement
My old cap was wearing from use and I was glad to be able to find a replacement cap vs buying a whole new one.Fits like the old one and looking forward to many years of use with this one!

Works great
It's easy to clean and downsizes the spout to a usable size. Only issue is you need to press the lid a bit hard to get it to latch

Undicht
