Absinthe is a strong, herb-infused, alcoholic beverage that was extremely popular with artists and authors in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Due to its green color and purported hallucinogenic qualities, it is often referred to as "The Green Fairy." These Absinthe Mints are anise flavored (the predominant flavor of absinthe) and come in a cool art nouveau tin complete with flying green devil fairies! Each 2-1/4" (5.7 cm) round tin contains one hundred mints.

Just OK
Just OK for these EXPENSIVE mints. There were only 80 mints and very tiny ( 1/2 the size of a tic-tac brand mint ) and the flavor isn't that strong at all. I bought this mainly for the tin to keep sewing pins in it ; other than that these are no better than licorice altoids which are way better. I wouldn't ever buy this again but had to try the Absinthe Mints just to say I had that experience. I rate this 3 stars as it's too pricey and not even 100 bb size mints in the 2 inch tin.

Pretty tin to give you a headache
The container is cute and the mints are okay, they taste like a mild black licorice, but the container is far too difficult to open. If you are just looking for something with a cute design that you could reuse afterward I would look for a tin with a hinged lid because opening this tin can be an exercise in frustration and the price is a little on the high side for what it is. I had planned to use this to put my headache medication in when empty, but trying to open the tin gives me a headache.

The tin is nice, but there is very little flavor
The tin is great, but the mints themselves are so so. They have a wonderful anise aroma, but I cannot taste any anise in them or any absinthe flavor at all. So they are great to keep your mouth moist, but don't expect much in the way of taste.

Good
These are really good. They're better than I expected. The flavor is kind of like black licorice but not as strong. I actually don't like black licorice, so that's probably not a good selling point, but they're cheap enough to try at least once.

the mints are tiny-so 3 is about how many you have to have per serving. Also the tin can be a bit complicated to get into if the lid is pushed down.

The mints don't really taste like absinthe but the case they come in is really adorable. Will refill with tic tacs or something once the "absinthe" mints are gone.

Faintly anise flavored
Very faint anise flavor, this is an unremarkable candy. It is my impression that all the flavor is in the powder that lightly coats the mints.

I was drawn to buy these because of the tin. The mints themselves are ok but they haven't got much flavor.
