Some users gave this a bad review because battery cover is tight, I'd rather it tight than loose, not rocket science to get it off. Nice little, keenly priced Wind Speed Meter to take the guess work out of wind speed.I don't know how accurate it is, but it will be more accurate than my guessing. Very easy to use, not need for instructions. Reads in Knots, MPH & Km/H & MPS. Great addition to your country pursuits.

I had ordered this anemometer, as it sports a tripod adaptor, so I could attach it to my tripod, to leave my hands free to use my binoculars, to 'Sea Watch', for sea birds and Cetaceans. With my current anemometer being a 'hand-held' type, so I couldn't record wind speed when looking through my binoculars! I was so excited when the anemometer arrived. Immediately I saw that the battery would not stay in place, so I couldn't even test the thing!! My wife looked up how to fit the battery on YouTube, just in case we were doing something wrong. My wife noticed straight away, why the battery wasn't staying in place, thanks to YouTube!! There is a clip that is supposed to be there, to keep the battery in place! The clip was not inside the anemometer, or in the delivery box. So, we can determine that is was sent to us in a defective state from the sellers/manufacturers!! I am so angry and upset. Are 'Quality Control' staff, a thing of the past? (there was even a QC sticker on the back of this rubbish, that said it had passed!!) The is a very handy anemometer and works very well. However, getting the battery cover off was a bit of a challenge as its so well sealed. It needs 1/4 turn and then a flat precision screwdriver to prize it out.

I live in an area that is prone to high winds and have always wanted to know how windy it is. Using the Infurider YF-876 Handheld Anemometer I know exactly how windy.Just before midnight I recorded gusts of 50+mph and the wind was increasing. Shortly after midnight next doors flat roof covering blew off!I like the fact it records the maximum gust and it is omnidirectional.I just stood in the middle of the garden and held the device above my head and could see the display very clearly.It would be better if the screen was illuminated for viewing in low light conditions but that, I guess, would compromise battery life.Altogether I’m pleased with the anemometer and it’s a good price.

Had to return it to you as faulty and did not work sorry

Works well but the tripod is not so good. Just use a camera one and all works much better in strong winds
