Looks good on my desk.
This model combines features of the F35A, F35B, and F35C. If you're looking for a technically accurate representation of a specific variant, this is not the plane for you. If you want a model that your kid can play with, this is a worthy toy.

NOT diecast. Received damaged twice.
I'm sure my son will like it well enough. He's 6. It is NOT die-cast as advertised. Lies! There is a top piece which is metal and the underside is plastic. Not sure if the top is stamped sheet metal or die-cast, but either way the toy is largely plastic. We first received one with damaged tailfins (which were not metal, btw). The packaging is half cardboard and half thin plastic window. They sent it in an envelope, so the box got easily squished and damaged the plane inside. We got a replacement and it was clear that the box again was compressed through the envelope, but only enough to cause some scuffs on the plane that my 6 year old won't notice. They should STOP SHIPPING THIS IN AN ENVELOPE. Assembly quality is poor. Looks like a drill slipped while applying one of he underside screws and the bit ran along scuffing the plastic. I'll be surprised if this lasts 1 year.Addendum: Day 1, front wheel broke off. Re-attaching with Epoxy.
