Old kit but turns out cool
Yet another Round2 Corps release of the AMT stocker line, basically the same kit as the '66 Skylark with the Chevy trim, but it seems to have a more complete engine bay, which is nice. The moulds are almost as old as the actual car, but it seems that Round2 may have cleaned them up a bit. You get a lot of accessories to mix and match - door guards and tubes, door plates, front grille bar and shield, etc. You can always leave the tubes or shields off for a unique look. The windshield is a half piece of plexi/netting to protect the driver. The four massive drag slicks have Good Year prepainted on them so no need to add decals, which always looks clumsy. The 427 engine looks the part - easy enough to add detail like wires and hoses if you like. The decal sheet is huge and features a few decals from other kits, as well as unique new ones. Lots of options - the usual fare of AC, STP, Good Year, etc are complimented by driver names like "Wild Bill", "Crazy Ed", etc. Some fictional business names are there such as "Larry's Garage" and such. A couple of cool decals are the spraypainted happy face with x's gor eyes and a sprayed "Savage Salvage" logo. The numbers range from specially painted ones to spraypainted, and even a set made to look like they were done with a paint roller! A perfect specimen to add damage and weathering, such as rust/ patina/dents etc - easily achieved with needle files, dremel etc. as well as weathering pastels, pigments and washes. A fun build, and not too complicated!

The accuracy the parts, especially the tires.
I don't build models out of the box, rather I like to make modifications to models which I am building a 1968 Dodge Dart Hemi as a modified stocker and the tires from the 1966 Chevy Impala work great.

Missing parts / Body doesn’t fit built parts
It looks great but mine came with the front and rear axles missing and the car body itself isn’t fitting together with all the parts built
