Perfect for my AKC standard Shih-Tzu!
My dog Boone, is an AKC standard size Shih-Tzu and this stand with bowls fits his height perfectly. I measured Boone and his mouth is 13-inches from the floor. The top of the bowl in the stand is 5.5-inches making it so he doesn't have to hunch over to eat and drink. This is good for his digestion.I love the size of the bowls, especially for water because they hold 24-ounces (three cups.) I like that they are stoneware for clean-up. I believe they are dish-washer safe but the bowls don't say they are, and I hand wash them before filling them. I don't care for plastic (I read that bacteria is prevalent in plastic...true? I don't know, but I'm not chancing it!) and stainless steel bowls aren't cute. These bowls are extremely cute with the playful puppies cavorting around the edge. Because the background color is white, it is easy to see if the water is dirty. Because of Boone's flat face, he is forever getting his water dirty from "washing" his face in it! I give him fresh water daily but now that I can see when it's dirty, I change it often throughout the day.The stand is sturdy and not flimsy. The feet are padded to not only protect the floor from scratches but also from black marks that wrought iron can make on some floors. I also like that there are four small rubber-like covers over the bowl rings to cushion the bowls. You'll want to be careful with these as they slip off fairly easily.I highly recommend this product, in fact, I'm going to purchase the kitty sized one for my son as a gift for my grandkitty.

Great bowls, right height, minor flaw.
It's a great bowl set and the perfect height for my mini schnauzer /Australian Shepard . My only complaint is the little plastic rings that cushion the pottery dishes from the metal stand keep falling off, I've already lost three of the eight.

Nice bowls
Nice bowls. My dogs are small, but one needed her bowl elevated a bit. The problem is that she gets her id tags caught in the frame around the bowl. This frightens her, and she turns the whole thing over. My husband made a cardboard piece that covers the frame, this is working for now.

Made well!
I'm really happy with this product. The bowls are super cute and fit into the stand nice and snug. My dogs are pretty small, but not tiny - so this is the right height as well. They ship the product well, and this is something that will last. It was well worth the money and will last for years to come! Go for it, you won't regret it.

good product
bowls are heavy and the frame is sturdy. I've used it for about 2 months and my puppy tries to chew it every once in awhile. the unit, however, remains intact.

Dog Bowl?
I must've been moving too fast when I ordered this for my dog. The description says dog bowl but its actually for a cat, hence the picture on the side of the bowl that says Cat. Not a huge deal. Only major complaint is that the plastic tabs that keep the bowls from moving it the frame come out rather easily when refilling food and water. I found one plastic tab in the dog's bowl, thankfully my dog was smart enough not to eat it.Was hoping the stand was a bit higher off of the ground.

Perfectly Named Product
I purchased the set about 4 months ago because my terrier would choke on his first bite of food every meal. This new elevated bowl works great, and he has not choked once since we started using it. The wire style is open on top, and food does not collect on the surface making it easy to keep clean. The wire legs have small rubber grippers that keep the stand from scooting around. The bottom of the bowl is 2 inches from the floor, which apparently is what my dog needed to help him eat. The bowl is 2-1/2 inches deep inside and 6 inches across at the top and 5 inches across at the bottom and of a good weight. The size works great for my 30 pound terrier. We are very happy with this product.

Very sturdy bowls -- with UPDATE
I know these are sturdy bowls because the packaging by Amazon was nonexistent. They arrived in a box with no padding to protect them and they were rolling around loose. Not a mark on them, no chips, cracks, etc. The lack of packaging is why I gave it only four stars. The bowls are 6 inches across, and I measured the top lip of the bowl to be 5 1/4 inches from the floor. If it was too tall, perhaps you could bend the ends of the metal out a little, so it would sit lower. Don't know for sure about that. The metal frame is sturdy as well, not cheap, thin metal or wobbly.Overall, an excellent product. Hopefully yours will arrive properly packed.UPDATE 11-15-12. After several days of our dog barking at the bowl because she didn't like the height, couldn't see the entire bottom of the bowl, my husband did bend the legs out so it would sit lower. It took some force, but he was able to bend it with his hands. I'm still very happy with the product.
