Good read
This book gave some interesting history that has been lost over the centuries.

history reveals prophesy
Greatest theologian I have ever read. So practical, so true, written as a scientist and historian should write.

Need a microscope to read.
This is a very small "pamphlet" sized book (?). The writing is so small I needed a jewelers scope to read it.

Clarity
It is quite common for todays Christians to view the word as understood by our life experiences as a lens to the content of the gospel but so often the content is then misunderstood. Newton boils down the the passages to their specific intent, jumping over ages of human habit and diverse traditions that blur.

Preterist view of Newton
Newton, though a very learned man strains history to fit the prophecies of Daniel and St.John into the to the limited extent of the historical empires of Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. I wonder how Newton would interpret the books had he lived in our day when literal fulfillments of Christ’s prophecy are just coming to pass in the last generation. Even John had gotten past Daniel’s four beasts by his time.

Some insights are quite accurate and well thought out like John's expulsion to the isle of Patmos during Nero's reign as opposed to Domitian's. The beginning chapters on how the study of Daniel and Revelation should be approached is amazing as well. Unfortunately, he fails to take his own advice when it comes to interpreting Revelation as his views are clearly based on the influences in his life, much like how people try to interpret Revelation today.

A different way to look at things
I loved this book, completely new and fresh take on things. I recommend for students who are always willing to challenge their own viewpoints.
