they're only a mite smaller than the current switch joycon and the buttons themselves are bigger than the joycon's making them comfortable to use
Being over 30, this little jewel of a system brought back the retro game nostalgia (and then some) with the added bonus of being HD. It has all the old favorites (and if you know how to, you can add more) plus a few Japanese exclusives we've never played before. This system is an absolute treasure. For those who are griping about the controller size, they're only a mite smaller than the current switch joycon and the buttons themselves are bigger than the joycon's making them comfortable to use.Pros:Famicom designTwo controllersGreat gamesCons:A bit smallLearning curve to turn on (Switch on AND press reset)System is in Japanese (though most games aren't text heavy, so It's not a huge problem.)Again, if you know what you're doing, you can easily change the language of the system.

My first Video Game Console.
When I saw this product online, I knew it would be worth it. The Nintendo Family Computer was the first video game console I had when I was a child. Many good memories, playing with my dad and sister. I have to say that the product met my expectations, arrived sooner than it was supposed to and was really new. The games are very nice and even when most of them are in Japanese, some others are in English. One of the cool features, is that it comes with two controllers, so you don't have to buy extras, just turn it on and start playing and having fun. Also, the size of the controllers is not a problem, you get use to it quickly. I recommend this product. I am 100% satisfied with the purchase.

Pure nostalgia without the cost of paying collector prices
I love this item, absolutely stunning to look at and play. Games look and play as they should, all except for Zelda since the microphone on controller 2 is all for show on this model. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nostalgia fix, and even though the controllers are smaller it hasn't made any difference in my ability to play and enjoy the games. Obviously everything is in Japanese, not a huge problem for me out of the box and I hear there are ways to install English language menu translation; but if you're going to go that route just buy an NES-MINI instead. I especially appreciate titles like Castlevania using the Famicom-Disk System version, which really gives you the digital definitive version of those games. It hooks up with an HDMI cable and a single USB cable for power. Controllers are built-in to the console, just like the original, and it even has the controller holders on the side of the console. Best value is that you don't have to hunt down all the good games, cause they come on the console; this is great for anyone who wants the nostalgia, but doesn't want to pay collector prices.

A must buy
The Famicom mini classic is a neat little device packed full of fun. Some may dislike the tiny Famicom controllers but I think it's adds to the aesthetic of owning a shrunken classic console. This is a must have for any collector!Game list includes:Donkey KongPac-ManExcitebikeBalloon FightIce ClimberGalagaYie Ar Kung-FuSuper Mario Bros. The Legend of ZeldaAtlantis no NazoGradiusMakai Village (Ghosts n' Goblins in the US)Solomon's KeyMetroidCastlevaniaAdventure of LinkBumping SumoSuper Mario Bros. 3Ninja GaidenMega Man 2River City RansomDouble Dragon Ⅱ The RevengeSuper Tamashito Luo (Super C in the US)Final Fantasy ⅢDr. MarioDowntown Nekketsu March SoreyukeMario Open GolfSuper Mario USA (Super Mario Bros. 2 in the US)Kirby's Adventure

Awesome if you wanted but never got an NES Classic and are into modding...
Awesome! This is a great, reasonably priced option to the NES classic. It's basically the same hardware wise, with some obvious differences. First, it's in Japanese as expected. This isn't really a problem as the visuals are pretty much self explanatory. If you're planning on "hacking" this, it works just the same as the NES classic. I currently have the entire NES library, plus the original Japanese 30 with room to spare. Now on to the controllers... they are SMALL. Much too small for my hands, but my 5 year old loves them. The chords are also VERY short, like the original Famicom. This was remedied by installing an extension cable... cut, strip and solder it onto the surface mount contacts of the original controller connector. DO NOT UNPLUG THE ORIGINAL CONTROLLERS, for some reason, they will not work if you do. I believe it has something to do with the Famicom 2nd player not having a start/select button. So leave those plugged in, drill a hole in the back of the case for the nes extension cable and you're set!

Great little console with one small flaw
I already have the NES Classic, so I thought I’d buy this Famicom mini to compare the two. I don’t speak Japanese but it’s pretty self explanatory what the games are and how to play them. The good: This is a very well-made and sturdy console. It does not feel cheap at all. The games are easy to play regardless of the fact that I can’t read Japanese. The not-so-good: As many people have mentioned, because of the nature of the Famicom design, the controllers have shrunk along with the console, and while they are well-built controllers, they’re a bit too small to really be usable. You can’t swap them out because they’re hardwired into the console like the original Famicom was. Yes, the length of the cords are short too but they’re no shorter than the NES Classic ones. And if you have a long HDMI cable and an extension cord for the power cable, you can just have the console far away from your tv so the length of the controller cords aren’t an issue. The only other small thing (which the NES also has) is that there’s no power block included, just the USB power cable. It’s just a little annoying that Nintendo doesn’t supply those, although I have a million of them lying around the house from old phones, tablets, etc.All in all, this is a great little console with one small flaw. But I’d recommend the NES mini over this one.
