Elgato - Cam Link 4K - Capture Device, USB 3.0 (Renewed)

Got this product used and it works exactly how I expected it to! No scratches or dings of any kind! I've had this product for about a month and it works great!Now I have a great camera the Canon EOS R8, and I bought a dummy battery for it. And I forgot to turn my camera/computer off because I had to run to do something. And got home and fell asleep, went to work, came home and I saw that it's been on the whole time! Now this probably wasn't good for my camera not sure, but the Elgato device worked perfectly the entire time! And it still works great to this day!

This was a gift for my husband, who received it today. He already has messaged me that he got it all set up and is ready to use. Shipping was quick and we couldn't be more pleased.

I needed a way to get around Canon’s stupid subscription-style paywall for connecting my T7i to my recording software. Found this for a price below getting it new, so I figured I’d try it. Amazing video quality, no noticeable latency, and small enough to travel with too. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in the same situation, or even if you just need a good HDMI video capture device.

Tutorial after tutorial on YouTube recommended the CamLink when I was moving on from my old webcam and researching the best way to connect my new Sony a6000 to my computer for streaming via OBS, and they were right! It is extremely simple, especially when used with an HDMI-to-mini-HDMI cable.It also comes with a short USB extension cable, which in my opinion is VITAL, because the CamLink itself is a bit large (and heavy for its size) and after having it plugged into the USB port on the side of my laptop for just 2 days, I noticed the USB connector was actually becoming bent (it is possible that something had been put down on top of it without my knowledge), which was alarming that it bent so easily. Fortunately I was able to bend it back into position and it still works perfectly. This little extension cable takes all of the pressure off of the CamLink itself.

I hold many zoom meetings and am always complimented about my webcam quality. Well it's not a webcam, it's a 35MM SLR digital camera using a camlink interface.Game up if you want better results with CamLink

I purchased the CamLink 4K with high expectations based on the positive reviews, and initially, it worked perfectly. For the first 6 months, it delivered exactly what I needed - crisp 4K capture from my camera with no issues whatsoever.However, after approximately 6 months of regular use, the device simply stopped working. My PC still detects it as a camera device, which is frustrating because it gives the illusion that everything is fine, but there's absolutely no video signal coming through. No image, no video feed - nothing. It's like the capture functionality just died while the USB connection remains active.I've tried multiple troubleshooting steps including different USB ports, reinstalling drivers, testing on different computers, and various camera setups, but nothing works. The device appears to be completely dead from a video capture standpoint.For a product in this price range, I expected much better build quality and longevity. Six months is an unacceptably short lifespan for what should be professional-grade equipment. This feels like a waste of money, and I cannot recommend the CamLink 4K based on this experience. Save your money and look for more reliable alternatives.

Connected and was easily recognized by my computer. I’m using an entry level Nikon D3200 with a 2021 MacBook Pro with the M1 chip and OBS.The problem is that every once in a while there would be a strange interlacing or weird digital blurring of the video stream and because of no internal diagnostic or status messages from this thing and no manual, I have no idea of it’s from this thing or my usb hub, my camera, my computer, or OBS, or what.Kinda left in the dark there, but to me, this is expected since I’m not using professional gear, so I’m not super disappointed.
