The Arwen Evenstar Pendant Silver Plated

Got for my Arwen Halloween costume this year and this necklace is absolutely stunning! Good for the price.

This is a great replica of the Arwen Evenstar necklace worn by Aragorn given to him by Arwen in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Since this is only silver-plated, it shouldn’t be worn on a daily basis because it would tarnish very easily and even if it is cleaned by a silver cleaning agents, it would lose its original appearance such as the shine and color because the plated silver will wear out over a short period of time. It is only great to wear on very special occasions and then display in a glass casing or just put it back in the box it came in with.

There are many Evenstar pendants available on Amazon, coming in a variety of sizes and prices. Unfortunately, Amazon does a pretty poor job of regulating the content of the listings, so you can pretty much expect them to misrepresent the item you are purchasing. Assuming that the very expensive ones are probably not worth the extra money, I decided to buy this item and compare it with a Chinese one that cost a little over $20. Both are pictured in this review, and this item is the larger of the two. Ironically, this item was the one that was marked as "Made in China," and has a stamp in the metal on the reverse. The smaller comparison was superior in fine detail, and also has a much more sparkly chain that makes you think of the elvish alloy "mithril." However, the comparison item is smaller than the 2.08" that was advertised. This item is more true to size, and also appears to be more like the size and design seen in the movie--so if that's what is important to you and you also want to stick to a lower budget, then this item is perfect for you. The chain is nothing special, but you can easily replace it with one that looks better. There is another item from the same manufacturer as this, that costs about 3x as much because it's supposedly Sterling silver and not just silver plated. Not worth it in my opinion, because this one is nice enough and looks similar to the one in the movie. I would assume the more expensive item is the same size as this one, and honestly would not be surprised to find that there is actually no difference in the metal.

I am a big fan of LOTR both the books and movie series. I did a ton of research and bought my size 12 ring from WBShop in solid silver, and got the official chain from WetaNZ! But when it came to Arwen Evenstar necklace, I was at a loss! So many official versions: 1- Noble Collection Sterling Silver 2- Noble Collection Mini Sterling Silver 3- GameStop SalesOne Metal (left) 4- Noble Collection Metal (this product middle) 5- WetaNZ Solid Silver (smaller on right) I ordered number 3, 4, and 5 and you can see them in the pictures in order! GameStop version is the biggest version but lacks significant details in the wings and the back. Stones do not shine either. Noble Collection version is actually decent for the price, and it’s much bigger than WetaNZ. The only downside is the glued stones. That’s why I didn’t get the solid silver versions from them. WetaNZ has the best ever chain I’ve ever seen. It’s the smaller version of the chain they provide with their $6000 One Ring made by Jens Hansen. Stones shine beautifully and they have installed and seated (not glued) with proper metal legs like real jewelry. The only issue is that it’s a bit small. I got the Noble Collection tree display stands for it, and it looks great inside the dome. I wish Weta version was the same size as Noble’s, then there would be no need to look at anything else. But the Noble’s size is actually quite satisfying, and I’m debating whether to return number 3 and 4 and get the solid silver one from Noble. Lastly, all of these are made by NLPINC INC as stamped or engraved on the backside.

This replica is just that; a replica. It’s beautiful. The types of metals used in the films and jewels will of course be different. It’s Hollywood. But I am an avid collector of LOTR replicas and I was not disappointed in the least. When I wear it I feel special, as everyone’s gaze draws to its luster and shining, elegant, look… I get many compliments and those who know what it is grow excited. The chain accompanies the elegant feel of it around one’s neck. The chain is very slim so take care, but sturdy enough. And it is NOT heavy! It sparkles in the sun and if you have any other silver jewelry it is the crown jewel you wear when going out with friends. TheNobleCollections always have great quality items. It used to come in a glass case that suspended it. Shame that is gone but you get a velvet sleeve and a box with elvish writing on the top. “One ring to rule” etc. it’s very pretty. So pretty I’m afraid to use it too much but I use a jewelry cleanser that keeps it as lustrous as the day I opened it. I highly recommend. Whether you’re a LOTR fan or just want this beautiful gem. I’m very pleased. (Buy jewelry cleaner in you intend to wear it frequently.

Anyone who loves Lord of the Rings and Arwin will like this. Great length, true to specs. Stands out but not overly and great looking box when opened as a gift!

My fiancée has been wanting this for years. I bought it for her to wear at our wedding. It's beautiful, the chain is especially bright. I wish it were thicker and of the same material. Unusually bright.

The pendant was a Christmas gift for my sister who is a lord of the rings fan. She loves it so much. It’s very good quality and is actually made of metal. It’s looks identical to the real thing and she wears it almost everyday. She even created a matching outfit for it. 10/10

Was going to order this years ago but could not afford it at the time for my daughter. This piece is just like the movie, impressive.
