TIME-SERT M6x1.0x12mm Insert Qty 10 p/n 16103

I’m glad I invested in this Time-Sert kit. I really like the inserts much better than the Helicoil‘s. I re-tapped six holes in my BMW cylinder head for valve cover bolts. The kit worked perfectly and the new inserts held the torque with no issues. I also separately purchased some of the longer inserts to match the thread depth Of the existing holes. I highly recommend this kit.

Repair threads the right way

TIME-SERT is so much better than helicoil. More work to install, but well worth it. I've had too many heli-coils break or become slightly un-threaded. Since you are re-threading a hole already, why take a chance of having to do it a second time, or worse, damaging things worse. Do it right with a time-cert and never worry about it again. Make sure your recess is cut deep enough if a flush fit is required, and make sure you thread deep enough, and your cert is short enough for a blind hole. There are multiple lengths available, so measure twice. Surfacing the head of the cert after install is definitely not fun, so best to measure it out and get it right. I oil the entire cert so it traps the oil on the threads to lessen the chance of corrosion down the road. Keep in mind, these things won't come out, so make sure you really want it in there!

I have used Time-Sert inserts since more that 15 years ago in different automotive applications. They are the best insert that the money can buy. The are strong and the fitment is excellent. Highly recommended.

I've used Time-Sert's for a long time to restore/repair damaged threads, especially in aluminum. These are the first metric ones I've used and they worked as expected. Perfectly restoring and strengthening the threaded hole.
