If I store these In a hot attic will the decompress?

I don’t store mine there but so store them in a storage container that gets hot and they have held their compression. Have not had the same experience with some of the other brands. The Hefty bags are much better quality.

How long do they stay compressed?

I have found mine stay compressed until I open them. I like the original Space Bags better. These seem cheaper in quality, not as thick.

Do the bags not have caps to keep air out?

No caps. It appears to be a one-way valve, so that once all the air is forced out, it does not come back in. I just press down on the bag to force the air out. No pump or vacuum is needed. I have only used these bags for travel, so I don’t know how long the one way valve holds the vacuum. One week of vacuum integrity is what I have observed in my situation.

Why is the Large pictured with side opening- yet item received has top opening?

I don't understand the question. The product in the Large package is exactly as pictured on the outside of the package. Perhaps you did not receive Large?

They hold up very well.

Perfect, they came fast, fill easy, zip thight and smooth, have the right size and most importantly- they stay deflated! Very high quality compared to the cheaper options sold on here. Value for the money is absolutely fair when i consider how many other brands i‘ve tried with zero luck.
