Lovely recipes using flowers
I like the idea that I can use beautiful flowers and eat them, too. There are so many great ways to use the different blossoms. I didn't know much about cooking with flowers before, and was happy to see that calendula has so many uses. I'll be planting a bunch of this, as well as lilacs. I'm so glad I can use my Hibuscus blooms now instead of watching them wither and drop to the ground.

Whether you are a cook/baker and/or a lover of all things beautiful, this is the book for you. Honest and accessible, it is very readable and the photos are incredible - thoughtful and inspired. You almost feel like you were there when the photos were taken. Perfect for the cook who has many cookbooks and for one who appreciates photography. Great coffee table book which will inspire lots of conversation.

Messed up in printing process.. Can't return due to policy. :(
Love love love the book! Bought this copy as a gift for a friend. As it turns out the book has a printing defect where one section in the binding was used twice and inserted upside down... I wasn't aware of this defect until it was too late to return. :(It’s also missing recipes because of this.

I was pleasantly surprised when this book arrived. It's a present for a keen gardener/cook, so I can't give a personal review. However, it's informative on flowers (background, culinary use, seasonality & preparation) & they're common flowers, not, as I'd feared, obscure ones that aren't part of your average garden. The recipes are clear (with great photos). It looks good to me -- but I won't get a feed back till our gardens bloom again next spring/summer!

Spannendes Rezeptbuch um mit Blüten zu Kochen und Backen
Ein sehr umfangreiches Rezeptbuch mit vielen Spannende Rezepte und Basis Informationen über Blüten und Pflanzen.17 Blüten werden vorgestellt mit ein Paar Hintergrundinfos über die Pflanze selber, mir leider manchmal zu allgemein da es jeweils ja viele Unterarten gibt einer Blume und ich mir nicht sicher bin ob tatsächlich alle Arte auch essbar sind.Sehr schöne Fotografien die Lust machen auf selber Zubereiten und Gäste damit überraschen.Süße und salzige Rezepte und auch Getränke sind dabei (brauch bei einigen Rezepte online En-De Übersetzung um die Fachausdrücke beim kochen-backen zu verstehen, ist aber sonst einfach verständliches englisch geschrieben.)Am ende des Buches noch viele zusätzliche Basics wie was gemacht wird mit den Blüten, z.b. kandieren, Sirup herstellen, Marmelade, wein verfeinern, Frosting und noch ein paar Quellen wo was gekauft wurde (usa)Die Rezepte finde ich nicht allzu kompliziert und ohne extravaganten Zutaten die extra dafür gekauft werden müssen, außer den Blüten ^_^Was mir fehlt sind die gesamt Zeit angaben wie lange man in etwa braucht um das ganze besser einzuschätzen und die detaillierten Infos über die genauen Unterarten die essbar sind (z.b. bei Tulpen, da gibt es ja so viele unterschiedliche und im Buch wird allgemein von Tulpen geredet).Im ganzen ein tolles und schönes Rezeptbuch mit spannende Rezepte was man so mit Blumen machen kann und überraschend was man alles so verspeisen kann ^_^kann es nur empfehlen!
