Engaged child!
I got this for my son, he's got a few diagnoses and struggles with himself and others. While he's struggling at home, school and with friends getting him to read books or watch videos on self help were obviously boring.I don't know what's different about this book but he's actually reading it and practicing. I know it's not going to magically help over night but I'm definitely hopeful, the 10 tips book for parents that was emailed has been really helpful to. I already feel a bit less stressed with all the things that can come with a teenager, that stuff really creeps up on you I was massively unprepared. The tips are helping us be more understanding with him and be better parents. It's been 2 months, and already he's getting comments from school about how well he's handling things, his head asked what changed because he's coming on so well. He still has a bit to go but my god this is really helping. 2 of my friends have said what's different, I sent them this link.

Amazing DBT skills workbook filled with fun
This DBT workbook for teenagers is full of fun activities and excersises which make things much more easier for a teen to work through, without having to sit through pages filled with just writing. I love that the workbook is gamified, and has quests which the teen has to complete to go forward in the book. This gives incentive and inspires teens to propell forwards.I also love the illustrations and the great explenations for skills. This book is a must have in a DBT collection!!

A really well laid out and hlepful book
I found this book on line by chance and ordered it on a whim. And I'm so glad I did. I work with a lot of teenagers and this has sosme really great way of explaining about anxiety and stress and how to manage your emotions. It is set out like a workbook with tips and ideas that really appeal to me as an adult. I wonder what a teenager would make of it? Well worth buying. A great resource.

Excellent resource
This is a great resource. The added bonuses of the worksheets being given to you electronically is a huge help (plus the parents book too). I will be using this with my Nurture Groups within school. Thank you to the writers for all your help via email too, hugely appreciated.

Black and white illustrations, no colour.
I was expecting it to be in colour but it's in black and white. The comics don't work so well without colour.

Great for Groupwork
This is an excellent workbook to use with teens (12-14).The format is easy to follow, and it's organized specifically in the protocol format designed by Marsha Linehan.I use it for counselling groups.

Excited to begin!
Received the book today, so I can't provide much detail. I am however excited to begin this with my teenage girls (13). Briefly reading through the first "Quest" it seems very attainable for a teen/ beginner. Individual lessons and activities that build upon each other and encouraged to practice frequently before moving on. It seems to thoroughly explain the internal dialog we experience and explains the reasons behind why the exercises are helpful, which is very important for context. The free bonuses are a wonderful bonus, I'm looking forward to printing pages off so the girls can practice the exercises many times before movong on. Also great to have a tangible book option as well as an ebook option. The parent guide looks very beneficial as well. Im Looking forward to introducing my girls to it and helping them build skills that will last a lifetime.

An eye opening book about developing important life skills
The media could not be loaded. This an incredibly interesting book, in a unique way. It doesn't JUST teach the coping and mindfulness skills, but it ALSO has specific exercises designed to help someone internalize and integrate those skills. I found that the exercises helped me realize fascinating things about myself that I didn't know. FOR EXAMPLE: there is this one exercise that I found really fun to do that involved around time perception. It had me close eyes for a time-span for what I THINK would be one minute. When I opened my eyes after I thought one minute passed, I was then able to see how my perception of time passing was DIFFERENT than the reality of time passing. The other exercise that I found to be interesting and insightful was one where I was encouraged to track how one thought LEADS TO ANOTHER THOUGHT (I think it was called a "thought train"). It made me realize that it's important to think positively because it creates a self-reinforcing momentum that becomes stronger with time. These exercises really helped me discover about myself, how my emotions operate, and how my mind works. They were really something special and I enjoyed doing them. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about himself and how to cope with everyday stresses - especially if they often find themselves in challenging situations.

Therapist review
I enjoy this workbook. I find it is better suited for middle schoolers. I think it is a bit cheezy with the questions for high school. My middle schoolers enjoy the questions/missions.
