Damsel in Distress... idk...
Novella again. So short. Blair is a half-breed. She is part witch and part vampire. One special evening, Blair and her beau Tony go out for a very special night on the town. Bair thinks its drinks, dancing and maybe a marriage proposal. Tony has other plans – sinister ones, namely her death. The Daughters of Darkness books are by 4 different authors, Chrissy Peebles wrote this one. I gotta say I really didn’t like it. I thought maybe as the story progressed I would, but I just found Blair kinda clueless and prissy. From my prospective… I see this first book as paranormal meets damsel in distress. She runs from Tony, she runs from Tori (see Victoria by W.J.May) she runs to Wayne in hopes that he can help her and then she’s swept up in the strong and capable arms of Tristan. The only time she put up any real fight was a total accident.I know this review sounds like I’m a Debbie-downer, and for that I’m sorry. Chrissy Peebles writes beautifully. You do get caught up in her words and can almost imagine the scene around you, feel the wind as the characters rush around, the heat of an embarrassing comment. Her other books are good, just not this one. Just my opinion. You never know if you will like it unless you take a look!

Fresh and Exciting Novella
Blair is book 1 in the Daughters of Darkness series, each book written by a different author. Blair is written by Chrissy Peebles who excels in smooth dialogue, character development, and world building. I enjoyed the twists and turns in the story as Blair learns just what type of people she's aligned with in her coven. As a 1/2 witch 1/2 vampire hybrid, her coven has always treated her a bit differently. Her only saving grace was her aunt, who has since passed away. When the coven, and her boyfriend Tony, flat out turn against her she must flee everything and everyone she's ever known. She's now in a race of survival. The story is fresh and exciting full of betrayal and self preservation. I was engaged in the story from the beginning. The author did a great job describing the setting and I was able to picture it in my mind. The novella was exciting and I'm glad I had the opportunity to read Blair.

Excellent beginning
This was an excellent beginning to Blair’s story. I could never stop reading her story after this beginning. I have a feeling this sweet yet very powerful girl, is going to do a lot of changing. Suppose it’s necessary when you have a bounty put out on your life. Like I said above she’s a sweet person and has no idea why anyone would want her dead. Her world has changed completely within a couple days. Now too start her next book, there are three books about Blair’s story.

Prequel to book 2
I guess you could call this book the prequel. I thank the author for being upfront to let the reader know that this book will end in a cliff hanger and continues in book 2. However what I read was so good I will be getting book 2 and I rarely do that. Blair is a hybrid vampire/witch that is deceived and betrayed by those whom she loved. A hit is put out on her by her own father and every one under the sun and moon wants a piece of her. Blair must now go it alone and trust no one. Can she find a safe haven? You also get a quick introduction to Victoria another daughter from the father from hell that will continue in W.J May's book Victoria.

Good story
When the coven of witches you were raised by turns against you, what do you do? For Blair, being half-vampire and half witch proved to be her biggest challenge. When her boyfriend, Tony a witch of the coven she belongs to, takes her far in the woods, she thinks he's going to propose, but the bastard instead tells her he intends on killing her, because she is hybrid.I really liked the story of Blair, reading her journey as she tries to escape the clutches of the people who wish to kill her and her power.

loved it
Truly interesting and entertaining. Tells of a young woman who only dreams of making a positive impact on the world around her. She's never felt as though she has truly been fully excepted or loved by anyone other than her aunt who raised her. She finally allows herself after training to be a nurse to fall for a new member of the coven. Will he break her heart or will he totally change her heart.? Will she ever feel as though she is one of them like she is loved has a family?

Nice Introduction to the Character
I typically pride myself on reading mostly the free titles available for Kindle and rarely do I feel the need to follow through with a particular series, however, Ms. Peebles has thoroughly pulled me in and now I will forge onward with no reservations about purchasing the follow-up title. I had a preconceived notion within the first few pages where this story would go, them WHAM............blindsided and totally invested. Can't wait, not only to continue with this series, but to read more of Ms. Pebbles' writing.

What does a girl do when she has just a out the entire underworld after her??
Chrissy Peebles, NEVER disappoints. I thank Ms. Peebles, for being up front about this book ending in a cliffhanger. This series is going to be AMAZING!!!! I have to go get book 2, the suspense is killing me, I have to know what happens. Pretty rotten when your coven turns on you and wants to kill you for your powers. As bad as that is, dear old dad, Vlad the worst Vamp in history, wants you dead, and puts a price on your head, talk about family disfuctions!!!!!!! Get it, you will love this book. Happy reading

Don't start reading this series
This is a badly worked series, story is divided in 4 books which starts to drag along too slow from book 3 onwards. Really boring.
