These plant stakes are made in our studio from original drawings. They are made of etched brass, which is individually dipped into a patina (the stakes themselves are brass without patina). The patina is not a paint; it is a chemical that reacts with the brass and produces slight variations in color on the brass surface. This surface will not rust. It is a natural finish, and would happen if the metal was left outdoors (like the Statue of Liberty). There is no maintenance on these plant stakes.
