We decided to buy this dog door when a friend gave us her one-year-old English Mastiff. Our Doberman is good about asking to go out, but this boy has problems with that and as such was HOSING the house when he needed to pee. We're working on training, but... Enough was enough, so we decided to put in a dog door. I'm really glad we did! It was fairly easy to install -- we installed it in a metal exterior door. Cutting the hole with a multi-tool, we were able to get the lines precise and the template they sent was perfect. Mounting it was pretty easy, as well. The dogs learned to use it in less than two days -- now they're in and out all day long. It's the perfect size for the Mastiff -- he's about 175 lbs and perhaps 3+ ft at the shoulder, so you get an idea of how big a dog this can accommodate. Our Shih-Tzu doesn't have any problems using, either, which is super nice. The quality seems to be really good all around. My only complaint is that the magnetic strips at the bottom aren't as strong as I'd like them to be. When we get gusty winds the flap tends to blow open. Otherwise, I don't notice marked drafts or stuff blowing in from the yard. It's been really nice to not come home to lakes of urine anymore.

Works as advertised. The plastic screw supplied are a bit inadequate. I used my own bolts instead and the assembly was solid. My 2 Boxers figured out the the door quickly.

I like this pet door because it has a metal frame verse's a plastic one. With 4 german shepards going in and out and something 2 want to go thru at the same time, the frame is sturdy enough for this. This is my second frame for a different door.

This is easily the best purchase I have made all year long. It's also the best thing you could purchase and install for your pets health and your sanity. I know my dogs like their freedom and sometimes I just don't want to get up 7 seven times in 20 minutes to let them in and out, in and out. That's where this pet door comes in handy! You can leave the cover off during the day and they can enjoy their freedom. Then you can cover it at night so no other animals manage to come inside. I do leave mine off at night though. I have a pitsky who loves spending time outside and she really enjoys being out there and guarding the yard at night. Sometimes I will wake up at 2 or 3 am and she will be out there just lounging on the patio. I bought the extra large for a 80 pound pitsky (pit bull/husky) and a 120 pound bullmasador (bull mastiff/lab). Both of them can get through it with no issues, while the pitsky can literally run and lunge through it because it's so big. My dad had a little bit of issues cutting through my steel frame door, but in the end he was able to install it himself. It took a little over an hour. He said the plastic screws are horrible. He kept one and took it to a hardware store to buy metal ones. As long as you know you will have to replace the screws then this is an excellent purchase. The magnet is pretty strong, but the flap on my door bows out a little on both sides. I'm guessing it's because the flap is so long or something. It's not really a big deal though. Not much air comes in through it and I haven't seen any bugs crawl in either. After placing this in my door my dad also out silicone around all the edges so it would be sealed a little better. I can't redommend this enough. It has seriously saved my sanity!
