The Things We Don't See

I’ve followed Savannah Brown for YEARS on the internet and always loved her use of words and her thoughtful approach to everything she does and I hadn’t bought any of her books until I rediscovered her when she posted a new video and the book had dropped just that day.I’ve been in a reading slump and this has pulled me out of that. I read the entire book in two days- absolutely couldn’t put it down. The characters are all very complex and interesting and there’s twists and turns at every corner. This book is deep in ways I didn’t expect and kept me captivated on every page. Brown rights like no author I’ve read before and I must say I have to buy the rest of her books now because I have been HOOKED. Gotta go stare at my wall for a few hours and recount all the good little details while they’re still fresh.BUY. IT.

My 1 star is for the suggested age level. My 8th grade son was given this book at school for a reading class, and I am appalled this would be given to kids this age. I could not care less what the story is about, I did not read the book, just skimmed through it. If you don't mind the language, more power to you, but this should not be labeled for kids 12 to 16. This is the second time I am attempting to leave a review. When I included the language in my first attempt I got an email saying it could not be posted due to the language.

this book is incredible and kept surprising me all the way through. i’ve loved sav’s poetry forever and her talents certainly don’t end there—both her novels are stunning. highly recommend!<3

Just stayed up all night to finish this , that should say it all. Really, really good read.

A nice summer read! Even though I liked the Truth about keeping secrets a bit better, it was still a nicely paced novel with nice characters! I would love to see a sav brown's novel that isn't YA... What about contemporary fiction? <3

look this book has such a delicious writing style + the plot is so addictive

This book is really gripping, often surprising, and above all beautifully written. I cared so much about all the characters and absolutely loved the whole setting. Especially the main character is refreshingly different and complicated, but loveable. I will read it again :)
