Not so sure if Amelia's hair is 100% human hair. Pretty sure it's a blend of human and horse hair. It's coarse, yet still soft. Once flat ironed, it becomes even more softer.When her hair is wet, it has that weird gummy feeling, which is what made me question if it were 100% human hair. Either way, her hair takes high heat very well. The highest heat I've used on her so far is 390°F. Hair holds styles very well.Unfortunately, as always with these cosmetology mannequins, the seller advertises a specific length, but does not deliver the full length as advertised. Instead, Amelia has those thin, stringy ends. I trimmed those off immediately after washing her hair.The hair does shed. Washing and conditioning it does help and calms things down but doesn't completely alleviate it.Amelia makes up for the cons though. Got those lifelike eyes, which gives her a more natural look. She's got the ears you can tuck her hair behind, which I love!Overall, I would recommend her if you're on a budget and want a hair mannequin with a good bit of density.Two star deduction for the stringy ends and shedding.

So far so good! When she came in the mail I opened her and start combing her she got minimum shedding not that bad her Texture feels like kinky hair if ya know what that is but lemme tell u the good thing is is that she got a head full when I mean a head full of hair when u can’t barley find her scalp I was pretty shocked and she’s extremely thick too but there’s one lil problem I’m gonna deal with is that when she’s wet and trying to air dry try not to touch her bc if u touch her it’ll feel alil gummy but if u keep shaking her it won’t be a big issue but so far she’s an A+

I had bought this previously, the lighter blonde with a blunt cut next to it (which was amazing), i give this 4/5 because it does feel more synthetic but maybe it just needs a shampoo. Just in case will avoid high heat. Still great if you need extra head for school or you just need a long hair doll to practice styling. The length is good, no shedding right off the bat but is normal when brushed

After reading reviews I was a little worried, but I ordered this anyway. Head is better than what I thought it would be. Has lots of hair. This was a Christmas present for my daughter who does hair all the time. She has been practicing lots of different hair styles on this manikin and once she has mastered it she does it on her or her sisters hair. This manikins hair can be brushed, curled or straightened. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the table holder clamp is not deep enough to fit on most tables or counters.

I love this doll, however she is way too over processed. That is why I gave 4 stars Her hair doesn't look good blow dried, but looks very nice flat ironed and beveled. I was working on her for 8 hours yesterday at school. Washed twice cut twice blow dry twice flat iron twice did pin curls and a roller set. I will definitely order again (should I want another blonde doll!!!) and she's not ugly!!!Side note: she had really pretty lose curly wet hair

When my children want to try something new, I believe they should have the right tools to practice with. My daughter is into art, and hair. We buy her the best brushes and paper. So when I saw that you could buy an educational grade mannequin head to practice on, I jumped on it. My daughter practices braiding, curling, and styling with "Amelia" (the dolls name) and really enjoys it. I recommend this product, it is great.

This mannequin head is great and for the price I got this for my 8 yr old instead of a cheap toy one. The hair is good quality and makeup goes on and comes off well. I might get another one. Quick tip though, don't attach it to a countrr and then walk away and forget about it, it will scare the neck out of you when you walk back in.

I purchased this manikin for updos. The texture of the hair was pretty processed BUT it makes it easier to style her hair. I trimmed a couple of inches off the bottom to even it out but after my tenth updo I decided to trim her more....the ends were somewhat sparse.Still a great price for a long hair manikin. It does the trick if you can't afford one of those $130-$175.
