This book has been an awesome resource for me. I taught fifth grade in a classroom for several years before quitting to stay at home after my two children were born. I started teaching preschool out of my home, and I had no idea how to go from teaching fifth graders to teaching 4 and 5 year olds how to read. This resource is designed for use in a classroom setting, either a full day or half day schedule, but in a home school setting it is just as effective. I learned so much about teaching young learners, and her very structured in-depth instructions make it extremely easy to implement, whether you are a new teacher, a seasoned teacher, a classroom teacher, or a home-school teacher. This resource is worth every penny!

Bought both books. They depart from the same concept.There are good ideas and guidelines but little time for childhood as there is "no time to lose".

This book will change the way you teach kindergarten! I read it over the summer and implemented many of the ideas when school began. I have been teaching for 20 plus years and this book has completely transformed how I teach. I have a classroom full of readers, and my mid-year benchmark tests showed remarkable progress for even my struggling students.
