Hard Pass
I got this book for my 6 year old because he liked other books by the same author/illustrator. BIG MISTAKE not to read it before handing it to him. Lesson learned. It's certainly not appropriate for little kids, but I'd argue it's inappropriate for anyone without an **extremely** morbid, dark sense of humor. There are 'jokes' about kids dying! It's just not funny.

Jokes like no other.
My daughter read this in elementary school and loved it so much, she still thinks about how much fun she had reading the outlandish jokes with her friends. Now in middle school, she requested to add this to her library of favorite books.

Kids Love it!
Andy Griffiths is my favorite children's author. It started by reading 'The Day My Butt Went Psycho' as a read laid to my 4th grade class. The kids love his humor and gross jokes. I started purchasing his other books for my classroom as high interest reading material for my reluctant readers. His books are getting my students to actually love reading! My students are excite whenever I introduce a new Andy Griffiths book to our class's library.

Someone out there will probably find it cool and funny rather than a bit nasty
I'd bought this for my 8 year old son as he loves the 13 Storey Treehouse series. Having happened to leaf through the first few tens of pages, it seems that it comprises a succession of short stories that end 'and then he/she/it was dead.' No problem with having death in kids books but there needs to be something more to it than is on offer on these pages, where everything ending abruptly with the characters dying, for example by suffocating, seems to be the only 'joke'. Straight to Oxfam. Someone out there will probably find it cool and funny rather than a bit nasty.

Hilarious silly book for preteen humour
I bought this on a whim for my son who loves the The Day My Butt Went Psycho books. I gave it to him after school and he'd finished it by bedtime. The kid isn't a heavy reader, so that's a testament in itself!Fun little book filled with comic strips. It had him giggling for days.

The story about the Very Bad Ant and the Bug Red Shiny Rocket Ship has ...
This book speaks to young boys, using "boy" language, in way that draws them in and makes them WANT to read! The story about the Very Bad Ant and the Bug Red Shiny Rocket Ship has become a family favourite. The children's cartoons on TV and many of the current day movies are far more damaging to kids than the content of this book. A funny book, aimed more at young (7-9) year boys, that will make them want to read the next page, and the next, and the next...

I really enjoyed the book, it was very funny and very easy to read. But I found it too short.
