4550 Starter Plus Stud Welder Kit , yellow

This is an excellent tool. I had never used a stud welder before. Very easy to use. It only takes a few studs before you get the hang of it. Just make sure all the paint is removed and don't leave it on too long (or you will burn a hole thru the body). You will figure it out in short order. Look at a video online before you use it (there are many instructional videos available). You get a good number of studs included as well. Enough to pull many dents. Another nice feature is, the studs won't fall out of the gun if you tilt it down before you weld to the body. All in all well, worth the money. I highly recommend it.

Bough this to pull a major dent in the side of my sons pick up truck from a fender bender. I have done body work as a hobby for a long time and have used conventional dent pullers in the past. This tool was incredible and the puller that came with it worked like a dream. We drifted the dent out of the side of the truck to the point that it only needed a skim coat of bondo to be finished. It was grate having none of the holes required by a conventional dent puller. Great industrial quality tool.

Great tool! Studs don't fall out. Welds them super quick. The slide hammer is good quality a grips the studs great. Wanted a collet style grip hammer instead of the lever type. Would highly recommend this tool to anyone doing autobody.

Very happpy with its performance. Well made. Simple to use. Plugs in a standard outlet.The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the manufacturer needs to improve its packaging. Amazon's box and packaging was fine. But the manufacturer's box only had a few pieces of cardboard to hold it and the slide hammer in place which is not sufficient for the tossing and turning that occurs when its in transit from factory to final destination. Opened the manufacturer's box and the few pieces of cardboard didn't hold the contents in place. The stud gun and slide hammer were free to move within the box and collide with each other. Wished it came with a hardcase.

I needed one of these since I had major dents on my 93 rx7 project car. I first looked over at eastwood but their prices were very high. I then found this on amazon. It is the exact same brand that eastwood sells but for 50% less!!! It is not cheap in any way and a good heavy duty hard working tool. It also comes with a box of studs and a nice slide hammer. I found that you can re-use the studs very easily. Only reason you would ever need more studs is if you were working on 10 cars at the same time. I pulled major dents and creases out of my car with this tool. Buy it here and save the cash for other tools and parts for your ride....

I tried this stud welder a few times and think it is a great tool. I restore cars as a hobby and this tool is a must have if you want to do your own body work. I checked some online videos before buying and the best advice I got was (1) buy it and (2) it takes a bit of practice to get the best results. The instructions are very helpful but on really dented surfaces, it is a bit of an art form to set the studs at the best locations to get the best results. But hey, it beats having to remove a fender, drill holes or remove interior parts to fix dents. I'm still learning how the use the tool but it has already saved me a ton of time and frustration when fixing hard-to-access dents.

Even after reading all the positive reviews I was a little skeptical, but this tool really works well. I found the slide hammer to work very well too, once I figured it out. Definitely worth the money for me. I love it when a tool works the way its supposed to.

After seeing a few different ways these slide hammers grab the studs, I can say this one does it better then others I have seen. you spin it to grab the stud, like tightening a drill bit on a drill, so it doesn't pull free. Can't say enough how much better that is. Overall, the gun worked perfectly, and couldn't have been happier with the results.
