SEAL SwimSafe Swim Monitor Band

Vine already let me try the SEAL SwimSafe system, and I am impressed. As I said in the review, if this saves even one child's life, it's worth it. No doubt this technology will keep getting better and better, but the SEAL system is off to a great start.This is an extra band. The system comes with one band. If I could make one suggestion, it would be that the system includes two bands. It's rare that a kid swims alone--either a sibling or playmate is usually sharing in the fun. It would be great if all the kids had a neckband. First, it's safer, and second, the kid with the only band isn't the odd duck. The way to popularize this tool is to get as many kids wearing them as possible, so that families invest in them if they think they may EVER take the kids swimming. Eventually park and school pools will have them on hand, too.But right now, you buy the entire system, which comes with one band, and then you add bands to your collection. The basic system has a charger that can dock up to four bands. You either need to buy a second system or get one with more docking stations if you plan on getting more than four bands.This add-on band has an extender that can increase the collar length, even up to an adult size. And that's no joke--there are adults who are learning to swim, as well as people who may not be confident swimmers yet, so they need this extra reassurance.The face plates on the band are interchangeable--you can pick which of four colors you like best.This is not a 100% guarantee against drowning (see my review for the whole system for more details). But it is a great idea! I hope it catches on--you can never be too safe.

Our 12 year old daughter has a condition which causes her blood pressure to plummet when she changes temperatures which in turn causes her to pass out. We can not take our eyes off of her when she swims and this causes her a lot of stress because she feels like a baby while other kids play. We had no idea there was anything like these bands. Although we still keep a VERY close eye on her at all times, it's nice for her to be able to venture a little further away from us, and still allow us to monitor her condition.

Such a smart invention, not just in the idea, but the final product. This is exactly what you need for extra pool safety. And it's not just a one trick pony either, you can make adjustments based off of the swimmer's skill level so you don't get any false alarms. It's not cumbersome at all either. This isn't just a neat little device, it has the potential to save lives, and it does what it says it will, so swimmer safety is a concern for you, you really can't go wrong with this monitor.

This is a fantastic product. Dr. Snyder has come up with a solution that lets children- and adults!- actually swim safely. The monitor adjusts for the skill level of the swimmer, so novices can learn safely while experienced swimmers can still have fun diving deep. Busy life guards at pools and beaches simply cannot reliably detect every single instance of a swimmer in trouble - take care of your family's well-being and invest in the SwimSafe.

We just used the SwimSafe system at our family holiday to Lake Tahoe. My 4-year-old son LOVED being able to have his very own "swim necklace". In a public pool setting, with lots of activity going on (other kids/adults, noise, etc), the ability to have this extra set of "eyes" on our son really brought me extra peace of mind.

This is a great way to keep an extra eye on your child. Since I have a pool this is perfect when little one wants to go swimming. This lets me know if he is in trouble. Great for on a boat or even at the beach. You can blink and a child is gone. So this is a great device.
