The secret to 'SnotTape is a specially formulated polyurethane gel that sticks to your surface and fills the gaps in the surface texture - the real reason it's hard to paint a clean edge. 'SnotTape ST-101 Specialty-Surface is for Primed, Flat or Delicate surfaces in which things are easier to stick. This version of 'SnotTape requires less powerful adhesive properties, making it safe for use on glass, steel and aluminum, as well as older surfaces.

Two stars because it means "I don't like it", one star means "I hate it" and hate is a strong word I reserve for things I really really really don't like.SnotTape did not live up to my expectations. First off it only has glue on the top and bottom edges (the green stuff) the rest of the strip is just paper stuff and does not stick to anything. When unrolling some for use a long section had one of the edges glue stick to the tape below it effectively ruining the tape I was unrolling. But whatever I continued on with more tape and tapped what I needed. Then after painting when I went to peel it off the glue in some areas of the tape came off the tape but kept sticking to the side of what I tapped and was very difficult to get off.Switched to a $3.50 generic brand blue painters tape and it worked just fine for me. Which I would have known, could have saved me ten bucks.

With a few tweaks this could be an amazing product. It's almost there
With a few tweaks this could be an amazing product. It's almost there. It did exactly what advertised, I was astonished at how perfectly straight my paint lines were with relatively little hassle. The only issue I had with the paint line was the tape pulling up some spots where there was some old loose-ish wallpaper that was under several layers of paint (very, very old walls). One issue I ran into was the gummy part wanting to stick to itself while unraveling it. The "front" wanted to stay with the "back" on the roll. So there was some waste. Maybe the "back" could be less stick resistant to avoid this.

Works great with one small problem
The only thing that prevented a 5 star rating was that the tape has a tendency to leave part of the green "snot" on the roll. There was some waste of the product and some frustration over this. We found that unrolling it very slowly and carefully helped a bit.I used this to edge an accent wall paint job and it worked perfectly. Also used it along our ceiling. No bleed through. Great product except for the "snot" problem.

Best painter's tape I've used
This is by far the best painter's tape I've used, and we've painted a lot over the years in our various homes. It's pricey, but well worth the time saved. There are 2 versions (basically sticky and super sticky), so you have to use the right product for the painted surface you need to tape...otherwise it could take off the paint/surface when you remove the tape. SnotTape is aptly named, as it spreads out and adheres to your surface. I actually used to take a tiny modeling paint brush to finish off the rounded corner edging with all the other colored tapes, but not with this stuff.

Absolute garbage!
ZERO STARS! ZERO! This stuff has been utterly useless. It would never stick to the wall at all and I tried it on many different walls. It just falls right off, no matter how I try to push it or rub it on. There's just no stickiness to it at all, just a minuscule line top and bottom with barely tacky green stuff attached to paper. So, I've been forced to just use regular painter's tape anyway and then painstakingly touch up the edges. What a total waste of time and money this "tape" has been. Went in the trash!

I had high hopes for this tape. Problems:1. It doesn't stick2. It doesn't prevent paint from seeping underneath3. It doesn't stick4. Did I mention it doesn't stick?I suppose it doesn't stick because it only has two narrow strips of weak gummy adhesive on each edge, with nothing in the middle to hold.I guess the gummy stuff must be expensive, and so they don't coat the entire back of the tape. I speculate it really is snot. From a humming-bird. And they have to follow the humming-bird around to collect it. Thus, too expensive to coat the entire back side of the tape!

WORKS WONDERFULLY
This is one of the most brilliant inventions I have seen - simple concept, WORKS just as described, I absolutely recommend this to anyone that paints free-handed patterns using tape. This is bar-none the best out there, to make it last, I cut the tape in half, and get twice the wear out of it, even so, well worth the money!!

Worthless
This product is so bad it would not stick on it's own when I placed a small 3 foot strip on the ceiling. I put the strip in place then went to get a tool. In less than a minute half of the small strip came loose. I knew this stuff would no do the job as advertised. I moved on to another 3m product.
