The Right Stuff for Carbonation
I found this dextrose sugar primer used for beer making and I placed my order. That’s because I bought a beer making kit and when you’re bottling, to make authentic beer, you need to add a sugar primer to create carbonated beer. You can’t drink beer without the fizz, so I’m ready for the final step when the batch is ready for bottling. Before you bottle you’ll need to sterilize all your equipment and bottles. The instructions say you’ll need to mix 113 grams (4ounces) of this corn sugar into your 5-gallon batch of beer, and then go on to filling each bottle one at a time with your siphon so you’ll get the fizz you need. My kit makes just 1 gallon of brew, so I will add less sugar. In this case it would be 22.6 grams (about .80 ounces). Of course, you’ll need to cap the bottles with a special capper device that I happen to have (a capper wasn’t included with my kit). I bought my beer making kit in December, but I’m waiting until spring to start it. I’ll be ready.

Good for Beer
I've used multiple methods for priming sugar for bottle-conditioning my beer. I do find that I sometimes get off-results, excessive head/foam from tablets. Tablets are convenient, but I feel that even with the inconvenience of having to mix up priming sugar, it seems like this method mixes better and you have less worry about exploding bottles (never happened to me, but has to friends).Either way, there's plenty here for quite a few 5 gallon batches. Dextrose sugar seems to be the go-to for most homebrewers, and that's generally what I use as well. It can be expensive, so try for value. It has the advantage of having less chance to produce off-flavors, so that's a plus.

If you never tried corn syrup/ sugar, give it a shot. It will surprise you.
As someone with a natural sweet tooth, I'm drawn to various kinds of sweeteners. Lately, I've taken to making my own sweets, which allows me to fine-tune the levels of sweetness and tartness to my preference. The question is, how does Corn Sugar from Fermentaholics fare? Taste is a subjective matter, but it's worth noting that this corn sugar seems to be derived from corn syrup, which we all know has a generally appealing taste. I tried my hand at making a batch of boba tea using this sugar, and the outcome was delightful. While it didn't quite hit the commercial restaurant profile I was aiming for, it did impart a robust and satisfying sweetness to the tea.

Perfect for Beer Making… Use It for Baking, Too (a Recipe Adjustment is Often Needed)
This is the sugar that is commonly used in beer making to create the carbonation in when bottling. I have found that it takes a little experimentation depending on your batch as to how much to put into each bottle for the secondary ferment (carbonation) in the bottles. This sugar comes in a resealable pouch to help keep the product fresh. It looks and tastes like dextrose. I cannot yet comment on how well this dextrose works as opposed to others, but I expect no difference. I have not experienced any issues over the years.Dextrose can also be used in baking and it imparts a different texture and sweetness. You will need to consult your recipe, but often you will need a little more liquid.

Great if you only need a pound
The product is pure dextrose and it's fine. The packaging is robust so I don't feel like it's really too prone to breaking and it works well. I usually use dextrose in my postworkout shakes so a tablespoon is all I use at a time. That being said unless you really only need a pound you can get a lot more for a lot less. However if local options aren't available and this is the only way you can get it this is a good choice to grab.
