Designed for most DSLR cameras, it features a wire-reinforced strap to prevent theft, a boomerang shape for added comfort, and a 360-degree camera lug for versatile shooting angles. Good comfort, needs a secondary safety loop to minimize detachment risk.
This strap replaced the OEM strap that came with my camera; it works well with a moderately heavy DSLR (canon rebel) and mirrorless. The buckle is sturdy and I have not had any failures over 6 months of use. The strap is very sturdy, however I cannot attest to it's cut-resistance as I have not tried to destructively test the strap. The only criticism I have for such a system is the single point of failure at the strap-buckle interface; dynamic loads on the single buckle may compromise it over time and fail. To mitigate this risk I've added a second small nylon loop connecting one of the traditional strap anchor points on the camera and looped it around the carrysafe strap, so if the buckle/tripod mount comes loose my camera would not suddenly detach.Overall comfort is significantly improved over OEM straps. Recommended!

Poor design compromises a good idea.
Pros:1) Very comfortable strap2) Holds camera in an ideal position when hanging from the strap (down, close to the body).3) Secondary strap secures the camera to the strap if the mounting plate comes loose from the body.Cons:1) The D ring tends to catch on the relatively thick and stiff security strap as you raise the camera to your eye, rotating the padded portion of the strap backwards on your shoulder. Is is a considerable annoyance when the D-ring is sliding on the single width portions of the strap as shown in the pictures at thee Pacsafe site, it's *major* annoyance if is passed through the double-width adjustable portion of the strap. However, if you wear the single strap to the front the quick release buckle is over your shoulder to the rear, where it's readily accessible to to anyone behind you and can be unsnapped in less than a second, pretty much defeating the intent of the cut-resistant strap, which is the reason you are putting up with the stiff wire-reinforced strap in the first place. You can secure the quick release with a couple of turns electric tape around the release mechanism , but then you lose the ability to secure the strap around an object. This is especially annoying as the solution is ridiculously simple: put the quick release on the *front* (single strap side) of the shoulder pad!2) When fully extended, the strap would likely fit someone around 7' 6", but it could not be shortened enough to comfortably fit my 5' 2" wife - you would have to modify the strap to achieve a comfortable fit. (This was also the case with the Pacsafe V17 camera backpack, you cannot shorten the shoulder straps sufficiently.)3) When installed per the instructions, the metal mounting plate covers a portion of the battery door on both my OMD-M1 and my wife's T5i. You can install the plate rotated to clear the door, but it then projects a considerable distance behind the body. So on many cameras, you will need to loosen the plate to access the battery.4) Which 2X annoying as the screw on the plate has only a "coin slot", and does not accommodate a hex key - unless you are carrying a screwdriver around with you the plate is likely to work loose, and absent a hex key option, if you DO get it tight enough to prevent inadvertent loosening, it is difficult to loosen on propose. All this aggravation, and a hex key option would cost what? An extra three cents?

It's ok
I bought this because I wanted a long pacsafe strap. I did not realize that it attaches to the camera on the bottom tripod screw. It's ok, but I find it a bit odd to carry since the large metal connection point on the strap is a bit awkward. I still use it and am trying to get used to it but I wish it just connected the traditional way using the side rings.

While heavy and somewhat stiff, the sling works well ...
While heavy and somewhat stiff, the sling works well. Problem is with the device that mounts to the camera. It can get in the way when using the camera's viewfinder.

The strap is handy. The hardware is not.
The BASIC idea here is good - a cut proof shoulder strap. This could have been SO SIMPLE... a strap with metal cables running through it, a simple way to attach a camera to a 360 degree mount to that strap... done. A good idea.Instead we have a strap with an over engineered (and not in a good way) piece of hardware.See the first pic. Problems...1. It's heavy, I guess because steel is safer than plastic and steel is heavy, except this is a metal base that screws into the camera bottom. It's not the place thieves cut.2. Because it's a metal base that sits against the camera, it has to be positioned very precisely - it's big, about 135 mm. And to keep it from moving around, you need to screw it in more than finger tight. It's an effort, and it tends to slip around no matter how hard you screw it in3. I guess they made it a plate so it could contain another hole so you can screw your camera into a tripod without having to remove the whole thing. Fair enough... except the reason this is hard to remove is because of the plate!See the second pic, a piece from another manufacture that does the same thing as this steel dogleg, but more elegantly and lightly, and enables 360 spinning much better. I bet I could get it off and my camera mounted before you could mount your camera to a tripod with the plate attached and strap attached.4. The entire thing is metal, except for the lock on the lower right hand side of the photo, which is plastic. If you are going to use metal on this thing, isn't the lock be the obvious place to start?5. The piece also includes the black and white herringbone strap to connect to your camera, but it can not be removed except by cutting it off. I have a very nice wrist strap on my camera, thank you. I you don't want this, but my only option is to cut it off. Seems... silly.6. The black metal strap with the two steel cables running through it seems find, but even there, they made it so it can not be undone and redone, which would have been nice. That way I could have used the handy piece of hardware in the second picture. As it stands now, I'll just go to the marine hardware and get a dohicky and make it work. So, buy it for the cable, and find the other parts on your own.

Great for travel!
I purchased this camera sling for my trip to Europe. I wanted to make sure that the camera was going to be safe that is why I wanted something anti-theft. Worked great. Carrying the camera on my side rather than on around my neck was much more comfortable. There is padding on the strap for on your shoulder, but the strap can slide around, so sometimes the padding is not always in the correct spot, but you just pull on it to put it back in position.

Hard to find in brick and mortar stores, now I know why!
Hooked up to an older Nikon D3100, the Pacsafe sling promised to offer a comfortable carry, easy camera repositioning for shooting, longevity and superb anti theft properties. While I’m sure most of these points could be checked off in actual use there were a few ergonomic considerations that ultimately meant the item was returned. Perhaps the biggest complaint is the metal camera lug that screws into the base of the camera. If rotated too far it rubs against the camera housing. If tightened using a coin on the screw head some rotation is prevented but eventually loosens and juts out annoyingly and can even interfere with your lower face. There are other weaknesses with the d-ring slide not gliding up smoothly when you go to shoot, not to mention the strap can be unfastened from behind you quickly defeating the anti theft functionality. Thank goodness for Amazon Prime’s easy return, cost-free process. My wife and I love Pacsafe products but this one missed the mark.
