The crampons arrived just a couple of days ago and even from an initial look-over they are very well constructed. The points are knife sharp (be careful!) and very sturdy. I have only used them a short time for initial boot fitting and feel. So far no notable issues. The are easy to adjust and fit to my Salomon winter hiking boots. I will update my review in a couple weeks once I have a chance to properly test them.Update (1-3-17): As others have noted, the adjustment pin that secures the front section of the crampon to the rear detached causing the crampon to literally fall apart. The issue is that the securing pin is attached to a long piece of spring steel that is prone to slowly packing with snow between the crampon frame and the spring steel as you hike causing the pin to get pushed out of position to the point where it eventually lets go. This can be extremely dangerous. My right crampon literally fell apart midway up an ice shoot on Mount Washington. I had both feet fail throughout the day and opted to ditch the crampons for micro-spikes.Recommendation: grind/press the securing pin from the piece of spring steel and replace with pan head phillips screw and lock nut. Run the screw through the resulting hole from where the pin once resided as well as through the adjustment rail from the front section of the crampon. Tighten and now you have a bomb proof crampon. 10 minute fix. This will take some pre-hike testing to get the sizing right but you will slog along with confidence in the backcountry.

Climbed mount Adams with no issues. Some of the other reviews said that the crampons had come undone where it adjusts but it seemed very solid on the ones I have. They're very sharp and work great for ascending. The strap system fits all of my boots and works really well for a strap system. Lastly, just make sure these are really the crampons you need, if you're just glacier walking or not going up a grade these are overkill and as I said before; very sharp, which is an unnecessary hazard if you don't need them.

A great product that performed as expected. Durable and reliable, got me up and down Mt Whitney no issues. The carrying case they come with is a nice feature. I was able to attach to my camel pak without any worries of injuries from the spikes.

While they appear to be high quality, they fell apart within the first mile of use.The size adjustment is made up of a steel spring and pin. This pin easily slips out and causes the front and rear piece of the crampon to separate, It literally falls into two pieces during use.

These were compared online to other brands such as black diamond for non-technical pursuits. Not yet field tested, but these have very sharp spikes and look to be of good quality for the intended purpose. A real savings in cost.
