Noren Monogatari (Story of Noren, Curtain, Tapestry) The products in the Noren Monogatari series are made by hand using natural fabrics, such as cotton or linen. Every product is handmade by craftswomen in Atelier Kawashima in Japan. They have more than 20 years of experience in sewing. The entire product-making process, from cutting and sewing to ironing, is carefully done by those skilled craftswomen. Since the products are all handmade and made using natural materials, patterns may be slightly different.There may also be some wrinkles, color unevenness, or some creases in packing. We hope you will enjoy those unique differences in texture of various fabrics. The products’ texture, finish, and durability also differ depending on fabrics or their thickness. It’s packed in an original Noren Monogatari package. Products now available: Noren, Tapestries, Tea cozies, Coasters, and so on. They are good for anniversary gifts for your special someone or for business use and you can use them for a long time as interior decorations at your home. Though craftswomen carefully do the ironing before shipment, some wrinkles may still remain because natural materials are mainly used. Basically, Japanese traditional noren has a vertical slit in the center. (See images and Product Features.) Our split type noren has a longer slit than usual so that a tall person can easily pass through. Noren rod isn't included.
